In tonight’s episode of Station 19, Vic’s friendship with Montgomery was back to normal. The two were coming up with quips like nothing ever happened and so they put the guy drama and went back to the way things used to be. Emmett thought it was great to witness. He came by the station because Station 19 was conducting COVID-19 testing and he was helping out. Emmett also told Montgomery it was good to see him. Emmett and Montgomery have history.

They began as a one-night-stand and it turned into an affair. Emmett was engaged to a woman while he was running around with Montgomery and Montgomery ended it once he found out because he didn’t want to be anyone’s dirty secret. However, now Montgomery was dealing with his father’s infidelity and it turns out his father was secretly gay in spite of his marriage to Montgomery’s mother.

Montgomery hasn’t seen nor spoken to his father since he confronted. He was taking some need space from his family when his parents showed up to be tested and he found out his father was exposed to the coronavirus. His father claims his golf buddy’s wife tested positive for the disease. Montgomery’s mother believed the story and Montgomery didn’t. Montgomery thinks his father’s golf trips are a cover for homosexual affairs. He asked them to come inside and he was going to speak to them when in reality he split up his parents. He had his mother waiting on one side while he spoke to his father alone. Montgomery was speaking with his parents as Sullivan was meeting Andy’s family.

Andy’s aunt, uncle, and cousin came to be tested. They also used the opportunity to finally meet Andy’s husband and Sullivan found out they hadn’t been told about his demotion. Sullivan had to break the news himself. He also felt awkward and uncomfortable around his in-laws after that. He was even glad when an emergency call came in. Sullivan responded to a fire with Andy and Andy tried to explain she didn’t care about his title.

Only it was hard to buy that when she hadn’t told her family he was demoted. This demotion has been especially tough on Sullivan. He knows that if he had been white that he wouldn’t have been demoted all the way down to grunt. He would have at least been a captain and his wife wouldn’t be ashamed to introduce him.

Andy tried to talk to Sullivan in the fire truck on the drive to the car accident. She tried to explain herself and he didn’t want to hear it. He knows she’s ashamed of him because he’s ashamed of himself. Sullivan just focused on the job and he took orders from Maya. Maya meanwhile was going through her own crisis.

She just found out her girlfriend’s visa is expiring and that Carina might have to go back to Italy. Italy was currently being ravaged by the pandemic. Maya was worried about Carina going back and she didn’t know what it meant for their relationship. Could do they survive long-distance? Carina couldn’t get an extension on her immigration status because all immigration offices were closed during the pandemic and so Carina was angry.

Carina was angry about how difficult the United States made it to be a doctor. Carina was a good OBGYN and she loves doing her job. She turned to it after her brother died. Carina also was the doctor assisting with the COVID tests and so Montgomery came to her for a test for his dad.

At first, she told Montgomery she couldn’t do that because his parents weren’t waiting in a car and so Montgomery told her that his father was in a closet and he might have caught by one of his secret male lovers. Carina gave him the tests. She also asked them to come to explain everything to her once his parents had left and that worked out great for everyone. Montgomery had needed to tell someone what happened.

Montgomery had asked his father about his “golf trips”. They actually were covers for extramarital affairs and his father was only seeing one person right now. It wasn’t a group of guys or a one-night-stands. His father seemed to be in a committed relationship with another man and so Montgomery asked about his mother.

His dad said his wife was his best friend. He didn’t want to lose her and Montgomery told him she couldn’t be his best friend if she never got to see the real him. Montgomery doesn’t want his parents to break up, but he wasn’t going to accept his mom being lied to and that he was pushing his father, to tell the truth. Montgomery told his father everything he had to say. It’s now up to the older man to decide whether or not he wants to continue living a lie.

Then there was Jack. Jack and his girlfriend and her son were living with an elderly woman by the name of Marsha. Marsha was one of those people that didn’t believe the coronavirus was as bad as everyone was saying. She exposed herself to it and she got seriously sick. She was put on a ventilator. If it was up to Jack, he wouldn’t take her off the ventilator until she was doing better and unfortunately it wasn’t up to him. It was up to Marsha’s son.

Her son quickly claimed power of attorney and he decided to take his mom after the ventilator because he thinks it should be given to someone else. Her son was so cold-hearted that he didn’t even pay attention as she was taken off the machine. It was just Jack and his family that kept watching.

Over at the crime scene, the firefighters were called to, the team was met by the new Battalion Chief. He was there to monitor 19 because of Dean’s lawsuit against the police department and the whole time the man tried to get Dean to drop the lawsuit. He claimed it wasn’t good for anyone.

He also told Sullivan that the younger generation was too reactive and that Dean should have been like Sullivan. He should have taken it on the chin and kept it rolling. Station 19 saved the lives of two people and they returned to their fire truck to find there was a ticket on it. The police department was retaliating because of the lawsuit. The Battalion Chief said he would handle it, only the firefighters weren’t sure if they could trust him or not.

Maya returned to the station to find out that Carina has decided to go back to Italy. She wasn’t going to wait to be deported because she realized she wanted to spread her brother’s ashes on a beach from home and she also wanted to help out in the crisis over there. Carina was going to Italy. Maya told her she was coming with her and so Maya was potentially giving up her job to keep Carina.

Sullivan came back from the scene with a plan and he later told Andy that it was implied he might get a promotion to lieutenant if he got Dean to drop his lawsuit. And she didn’t support him. She couldn’t because she knew Dean was doing the right thing and so she told her she loved him but couldn’t help him. She refused to.

And later Marsha woke up in her hospital bed.

THE END!
