The Bachelor 2020 airs on ABC this evening with an all-new Monday, January 11, 2021, season 25 episode 2 and we have your The Bachelor recap below. On tonight’s The Bachelor season 25 episode 2 as per the ABC synopsis, “The 24 women who survived the rose ceremony on arrival night discover that dating Matt is intoxicating although the atmosphere among the women is plain toxic. Matt’s adventurous first date with Bri triggers an emotional bombshell between the other jealous women, including Victoria.
The largest group date in Bachelor history has 18 women dress up for a wedding photoshoot, with Matt as the groom kissing his brides. Sarah is thrilled to join Matt on a romantic ride aboard a 1930s biplane, but the love-struck bachelorette is having a difficult time seeing him with other ladies, leading to multiple women spiraling out of control.”

Last week was everything to Matt, now he feels like his journey is beginning. He hasn’t been able to find true love until now and he wants that.
Katie finds it hard to be with so many women, she has never been in a sorority. Chris H. stops by to see how the women like their place. He congratulates Abigail on getting the first impression rose. Then, he announces that this week there will be three dates; one group date and two one-on-one dates. Because this is a record number of women, not all the women will be going on dates. Everyone is hoping to get a date. The first one is for Bri, “love is an adventure.” She is very excited, yet very nervous. She hopes the spark is there and there is instant chemistry. Matt chooses Bri because their conversation went very well the night before.
Matt puts a helmet on Bri, and they take off on two ATVs. Victoria lashes out, she says she is not jealous, but she wanted that day. And at the end of the day, she is there to date Matt not be in a sorority so she doesn’t care what the other women think. Jessenia doesn’t like the energy that melts off of Victoria, it is intense and very negative. She really feels that if Victoria keeps this up she will ostracize herself from the rest of the group.
Matt and Bri wipeout, he just thinks her mother is going to kill him. After an exhausting ride, they arrive at a picnic and a woodfire hot tub. Matt Takes off his shirt, Bri says he has eight to sixteen abs and looks great without his shirt. He tells her that he was looking forward to spending time with her. He tells her that he is glad they made it through safe and it is one hundred percent worth it. She admits to herself that she feels comfortable with him. He leans in for a kiss, the two are in the hot tub. He feels extremely lucky, he is on a journey to find what he was missing to make his life whole.
Victoria is a strong personality, she is not doing well with the other women. Anna thought the Queen Victoria thing was an act, but it looks like it was actually real.
At dinner, the conversation continues between Bri and Matt. She says her mom raised her as a single mom, she was pregnant when she was thirteen. Her whole life has been only she and her mom. During quarantine she found out that her mom is pregnant again, has a fiancé and now she feels like she doesn’t have a home. She has somewhat a relationship with her dad. He tells her that her feelings resonate with him, when he needed his dad the most, he wasn’t around. She says she always gravitates towards her friends with big families because that is what she wants, he says he wants the same thing too.
The women are all together in the house, Victoria says she doesn’t want to be on a group date because she couldn’t be herself. There is a knock at the door; Chelsea, Serena P., Abigal, Sydney, Illeana, Kristin, Lauren, Jessenia, Serena C., Kit, Kaili, Khalah, Mari, Piper, Rachel, Victoria, “I am looking for the one.” The women feel like they are going to fight for his attention and it is going to be a disaster with Victoria.
Matt really enjoyed his date, he tells Bri he wants to spend more time with her and he gives her a rose. Then the women hear fireworks outside, it is for Matt and Bri at the end of their date. Victoria tells the women that she is authentic and real, and offended that some of them didn’t treat her well. Marylynn is backing down, she doesn’t want drama with someone like Victoria, she has to room with her. Victoria calls Marylynn phsychologically disturbed. Victoria says she is literally a queen and she can’t wait for Matt to see that.
It is time for the group date, Matt’s first. It is raining, Matt tells them that he thought it would be fun to do a photo shoot and visualize what the wedding day would look like. They have ten minutes to get dressed and famed Bachelor Nation photographer, Franco, will be taking the photos. The girls all rush inside to change.
The ladies emerge in their wedding dresses. Jessenia is first, she has never tried on a wedding dress before; she starts with kissing Matt. Then after a few more there is Victoria, she gets Matt to take off her garter for the photo. Some of the women find it strange and a little reach. Then Victoria grabs Matt for a passionate kiss; although he looked awkward. Chris H. interrupts, he tells them that getting married will be the most romantic day of your life. But Matt is looking for a woman who will fight for his love. Chris H. takes Franco and Matt away. Victoria walks past the woman and waves the veil in their faces.
The woman rejoin Chris H., Matt and Franco. He tells them they are going to play capture the heart, capture Matt’s heart. He is going to separate the women into two teams. The one team that captures the other team’s heart, takes it back to the wedding arbor, wins. The team that wins will spend a romantic night with Matt. The losing team will walk back to their homes.
The rules are, there are no rules. They have different items that they dip into paint and use to stop the other team. Paint is flying, women are blasting each other and falling everywhere. Franco has gone rogue, he is out their taking photos. There are no rules, but it is really a free for all. It is all over, the red team wins. The most valuable bride award goes to Mari, she is on the gold team but gets to join the red team because of her amazing effort.
The women who lost are broken, they worked really hard to try and win. Katie is silent, she says it was a really hard day overall and you can’t fall in love if you don’t even have any time with a guy.
Matt is with the winning women, he thanks them for all the effort the put in to spend time with him and he toasts them. Lauren is happy she is on the winning team, she didn’t spend any time speaking to Matt on night one. She is the first to spend time with him and she tells him that she felt like a kid today during the competition, she just wanted to win. She says she wants a guy who is a man of faith, who is giving and kind. Matt is speechless.
There is a knock on the door, the last date card has arrived and it is for Sarah, “the sky is the limit for us.”
Victoria sits down with Matt, she tells him that as much as she comes across confident, she is human and has her own securities. He tells her that she looked great today and night one. He tells her that he understands why she is the way she is and he is going to challenge her to be herself. He asks if he can take her back downstairs, she says yes, but asks for a kiss first. It is not often that a Bachelor ends a conversation with a girl.
Matt asks Lauren if she will sit with him for a minute, he gives her the group date rose. This is the happiest she has been since she has been there, it gives her validation that he feels it too. Matt leaves the woman and tells them he will see them at the cocktail party. Victoria asks Lauren if she was expecting that, Lauren doesn’t answer. Victoria says she shared a lot and went out of her way during the day, so she was thinking she would get the rose.
It is time for Sarah’s date with Matt, so far she has had just that first night together. A plan arrives, Sarah says it looks like the first plane that was ever invented. They go up in the air and all we can hear Sarah say is oh my God.
The women look up and see Matt and Sarah flying over them. The date is so precious for Sarah, but she is private and it takes time for her to take down the walls. They land and stop for a picnic with a fire outside in the woods. They talk, but Matt can tell that Sarah is hiding something and he hopes at dinner that she opens up.
At dinner, Matt tells Sarah that he hopes they can get into a deeper conversation. She says to be honest, it is hard for her to take down walls because she is such a private person, it is hard to open up. She says family is everything to her. When she was in college, her family notices things about her dad’s behaviour and health, he was diagnosed with ALS. The same disease Steven Hawking had and there is no cure.
It has been five years, but watching him to grapple with this disease was unimaginable. She quite her job as an TV anchor to take care of her dad. And that is why her family is so close. He says he can’t imagine what she is going through, but through his life his faith have kept him going through the tough times and he is going to pray for her family. Matt is speechless. She says she didn’t even know if she should be there, but her father wanted her to go out and find love.
Sarah gets the rose at the end of the date, Matt says her showing him that she would do anything for the people she loves made his decision for him. The two kiss and Sarah feels like there is a weight lifted off her chest.
Time for the cocktail party, a lot of the women are anxious. A lot of the girls, especially the ones that didn’t go on the group date are going to try to spend time with Matt. He arrives, he tells them it is really remarkable how far they have gone in one week. He toasts to an incredible evening and sharing love. Abigail is really nervous, although happy when she gets tie to sit down to speak to him. Matt is very relaxed and feels the women are more comfortable with him. Now that he has gotten to know them better, he feels more comfortable. Marylynn was nervous but when she sits down with Matt, she feels better, actually on cloud nine that he recognizes her. He brings her a vase with orchids, she is so happy and speechless.
When she returns to the women and Victoria sees that he gave her orchids, she is looking at Marylynn with daggers and she calls her toxic. Victoria gets her time with Matt and plans on filling him in on the toxic environment. She tells him that the last time they spoke she brushed over things, Marylynn is her roommate and she is straight up toxic and she has had to sleep on the couch. He says he had no idea that was going on and he apologizes to her. She says she avoids her now because she is so toxic and life goes on. She is moving on from Marylynn but she wanted him to know about that. Matt gets the impression that Marylynn was bullying Victoria. Matt goes to search her out to have another conversation with him.
Victoria tells the women that he shared with Matt how awful Marylynn was with her. The women don’t agree, they don’t see Marylynn like that. Matt and Marylynn sit down, he says that Victoria reveals some hurtful things that she said to her. She says she isn’t one to put herself in the middle of drama, but she is not the person to spite anyone. Marylynn says she is telling him the honest truth. He says he has a lot to think about and he is going to head out. Matt doesn’t know what to think, it is a he said she said thing.
Marylynn asks Victoria to speak to her, the other women leave. Marylynn says there is a lot of miscommunication. Marylynn tells her that she is sorry that she hurt her feelings and doesn’t want to fight with her. Victoria gets up in a huff and doesn’t want to talk further with her. Then Victoria walks over to the other women and tells them that Marylynn is crazy. MJ thinks that causing drama to get Matt’s attention is not what Victoria should do. Most of the women are upset at the drama, a lot didn’t have the time to spend with Matt because of what Victoria did. The women agree that Matt didn’t need to know about it and it was super unnecessary.
Matt tells the women it is hard to believe they are already a week into this process. Just before the ceremony, Victoria says to the camera that Marylynn needs to go home because she hates her and she is the queen.
The first rose goes to Pieper, then Kit, Magi, Rachel, Abigail, Chelsea, Jessenia, Katie, Serena C., and all of a sudden, Abigail is seeing stars and just about faints. Medics are called, she says she is blacking out and cannot see.
