The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Friday, May 21, reveals that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) discovered Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) drove away while Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) was unconscious – and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) made a vengeful vow.
At the cabin on Friday’s B&B episode, Hope tried to shut down Liam’s claims of killing Vinny. However, Liam insisted that he was the one the police were looking for. He assured Hope that it was true – that Vinny was dead because of him.
Hope started crying hysterically and remained in denial about the whole thing. She didn’t think Liam would kill someone and leave him on the side of the road. Liam kept at it until Hope finally realized it was true – that Liam killed Vinny and left him for dead that night.
Hope couldn’t believe they were having this conversation right now. “So…you hit Vinny. Was it on purpose?” Hope asked. She begged Liam to tell her it was an accident, so he said of course it was. Even so, Liam felt that didn’t change the fact he killed someone.
Hope wanted to hear the story of exactly what happened, so Liam talked about being careful on the road. Vinny just popped up out of nowhere and there was no time to stop.
Liam explained that Vinny was alive initially, but he died moments later since nothing could be done at that point.
Hope wondered if Liam just drove off, but he confessed to getting overwhelmed and passing out. He added that when he was unconscious, Bill put him back in the car.
Hope reeled as she realized it was Bill who drove away and left Vinny for dead!
At Spencer Publications, Bill refused to join the pity party Thomas was throwing for Vinny. As far as Bill was concerned, the person who hit Vinny took out the garbage.
Thomas thought it sounded like Bill was perfectly fine with the person who killed Vinny getting away with it.
Bill mentioned that Vinny was out walking in the middle of the night and added that actions had consequences. Thomas felt Bill was heartless, so Bill admitted he could be when he was pushed.
Bill ranted about Thomas being the “son of a bitch” who lied about his granddaughter’s death and tortured his son along with Hope and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
Bill wasn’t willing to buy into Thomas’ sob story about Vinny, who played God with at least four people’s lives – including the life of Thomas’ own sister.
Thomas insisted that he shunned Vinny for his mistakes, but he didn’t think his friend deserved to be murdered. He was furious over Bill acting like Vinny was nothing. Thomas vowed to find out who killed Vinny and make that person pay.
Suddenly, Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) walked in and commented on the “interesting gathering.” Thomas argued that he was just finding out Bill was even more callous than he originally thought.
Thomas was starting to think that if Bill had been the one driving and had mowed Vinny down, he would’ve left Vinny for dead, too.
Bill argued that Thomas and Vinny were two peas in a pod in terms of all the wrong things they’d done. He wasn’t going to shed any tears over Vinny’s death, so Wyatt pushed Thomas to leave “before something happens.”
Thomas admitted Vinny wasn’t perfect, but he didn’t think Vinny had a mean or vindictive bone in his body. That was more than Thomas could say about Bill.
Thomas shouted that Vinny was sorry for switching the DNA test results. “Haven’t you ever made a mistake and wished that you could’ve gone back and correct it?!” Thomas yelled.
Thomas reiterated that he wouldn’t stop until he found the person who killed Vinny and stomped off.
That left Wyatt to question “what the hell” that was about. Bill fumed over Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) “freak show” of a son and wasn’t about to listen to him wax on about his loser friend.
After Bill ran down the list of Vinny’s crimes and called him a low life, Wyatt understood why Bill felt that way.
Nevertheless, Wyatt pointed out that Thomas was a good friend of Vinny’s. He also understood that Thomas wanted the person responsible to pay.
Meanwhile, Flo Logan (Katrina Bowden) talked to Ridge and Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) at Forrester Creations. Brooke didn’t understand Bill’s concerns since he should be thrilled that Liam and Hope were back together.
Talk turned to a special request Flo had for Brooke. She hoped that if Brooke sensed Hope needed something or if Hope might be willing to have coffee or dinner, Brooke would let Flo know.
Flo didn’t want to push, but she liked the idea of taking some little steps toward forming a relationship with Hope.
After Brooke agreed, the conversation shifted back to the mystery of Bill and Liam’s tension. Ridge argued that whenever Bill opens his mouth, it’s a lie. He admitted to Flo that he didn’t like Bill one bit and thought he had good reasons.
Ridge felt like something wasn’t right when it came to the conflict Wyatt had picked up on.
