The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Monday, February 1, reveal that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) were at the cliff house when Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) stopped by. Steffy shared with Liam that her paternity test was later that day, and that the results would take a little longer since it was so early in the pregnancy.
Steffy said that she wanted Finn to be the father, and that hopefully this paternity test would allow them all to get on with their lives. Liam offered to go with Steffy to the test, and Finn responded with exasperation, saying that he was obviously going with Steffy.
Steffy ordered the guys to stop with the animosity, saying that she was going to protect her baby, who was innocent in all this.
Meanwhile, at the cabin, Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) talked, and Brooke noted that Hope seemed down. Brooke asked if Hope and Liam were having problems, and Hope said that something had happened but that they were dealing with it.
Hope explained that Liam and Steffy slept together after Liam saw Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) with the mannequin. Brooke was dismayed, and Hope explained that Liam thought that she was turning to Thomas.
Brooke advised Hope to consider the children in what she did next, and then Hope disclosed that Steffy was pregnant and that Liam could be the father.
Brooke was horrified, and Hope explained that a paternity test was being done and that Brooke shouldn’t tell Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) just yet. Hope said that she was all over the place, and that she was praying that Liam wasn’t the father.
Later, after Brooke had gone, Liam showed up to tell Hope that Steffy was taking the paternity test now.
Liam then started rambling about how he loves Hope and never meant for any of this to happen. Liam rehashed “that one stupid night,” and reiterated that he was sorry.
Liam continued, saying that he was still dedicated to Hope and that he wanted to be with her. “I pray you feel the same way,” Liam said, noting that he believed that there was a way through this for them.
At the hospital, Steffy and Finn were in Dr. Campbell’s (Tina Huang) office when Dr. Campbell walked in. Steffy said that she was ready to do the paternity test, and she asked how accurate the test was.
Dr. Campbell said that the test was 99% accurate and was very sophisticated, producing a simple yes/no answer.
Dr. Campbell left the room to get things ready, noting that Steffy would take a blood test while Finn would get a cheek swab. Steffy said that she hoped that the test produced a “yes” result and that Finn was the father.
In the Forrester Creations backstage area, Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) and Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) discussed work.
Donna gushed about how Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) may have picked their wedding date last night. Zende nervously asked if Donna had seen Ridge.
In the Forrester Creations CEO office, Zoe and Carter talked happily about wedding plans, revealing that they did indeed pick their wedding date last night. Zoe told Carter that she was ready to be his wife, and that she wanted their future to start right away. Carter beamed.
Zoe got a text and had to go, then Ridge walked in to find Carter there alone. Carter gushed to Ridge about having picked a wedding date and told Ridge that he hoped Ridge was ready to be his best man. Ridge looked unnerved.
Backstage, Zoe joined Donna and Zende, and after Donna took off, Zende asked Zoe if everything was ok. Zoe said that Ridge didn’t tell Carter about seeing them together, and that she was now 100% committed to her marriage to Carter.
“As long as Ridge doesn’t say anything, Carter won’t know about you and me,” Zoe said hopefully.
Back in the CEO office, Ridge said that seeing Carter happy like this made telling him difficult. Carter thought that Ridge was joking around, but Ridge said, “I don’t think you know Zoe as well as you think you do.”
Carter insisted that he was marrying the woman of his dreams, but Ridge blurted that he didn’t think he could stand up for Carter.
At this point, Carter started to get agitated, and Ridge disclosed that he walked in and saw Zoe with Zende. Carter said that Zoe and Zende worked together, so that wasn’t that unusual. “I saw them at the house,” Ridge said. “And it seemed like Zoe was making a move on him.”
