The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Monday, January 18, reveal that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) continued their argument in the Forrester CEO office.
Steffy said that she wouldn’t know who fathered her baby until she got a paternity test, but that she was hoping that John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) was the father.
Hope said that she didn’t believe that, and that Steffy has always had feelings for Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). Steffy insisted that she didn’t want to undermine Hope and Liam’s marriage, and that she didn’t want to lose her future with Finn. Hope was disgusted and left without saying a word.
Meanwhile, at the cliff house, Finn told Liam that there would be no more breezing in and out of Steffy’s life whenever he felt like it. Liam said he took responsibility for what happened, and that he wasn’t making excuses, but that Finn didn’t need to build a moat around Steffy.
Finn scoffed, saying that Liam talked a good game.
“Where was all that love for Hope when you were cheating on her?” Finn asked. “You questioned my values and principles like you were a paragon of virtue,” Finn noted, referencing how Liam had treated him when he first began dating Steffy.
Again, Liam said that he deeply regretted what he did, and that he loved Hope more than anything.
Later, Finn showed up at Forrester Creations to see Steffy. Steffy said that she was glad that Finn wasn’t avoiding her. “That’s not my style,” Finn said. Steffy wondered how Finn was feeling knowing that she might be carrying his baby.
Finn launched into a monologue about everything that he just told Liam at the cliff house and about how he told Liam that he needs to stay in his lane.
Steffy listened, and while she didn’t defend Liam to Finn, she noted that what happened was on both herself and Liam. Finn said that Liam dangled the idea of the future that Steffy and Liam were supposed to have.
Steffy apologized again for what she did, and she told Finn that her feelings for him were stronger than ever and that she wanted her baby to be his.
At Brooke Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) mansion, Hope entered the living room alone. Soon, Liam came in through the side door hoping that they could talk. Hope said that they were in a holding pattern until the paternity test results came in. “I can’t believe we’re here again,” Hope said.
Liam then said that he loved their home at the cabin, and that he knew that he threw away what they had in one moment. Liam said that he should have known that Hope would never let Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) kiss her.
“I blew us up over a mannequin,” Liam lamented. Liam started crying, and he said that he knew that he was asking Hope to forgive what he wouldn’t.
Over at Spencer Publications, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) had just finished a workout and was shirtless when Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) walked into the office with Summer Newman (Hunter King).
Bill chastised Wyatt for catching him in a moment, then he turned to Summer and said he was intrigued by a possible collaboration between her company JCV and Spencer Publications.
After their business meeting, Summer, Wyatt, and Bill decided that the collaboration was a go, and Summer good-naturedly said to Bill that he wasn’t scary at all.
Bill left the room to head to another meeting, and shortly after, Summer broached the topic of Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Wyatt immediately seemed uncomfortable.
Summer said that she didn’t know what to make of Sally, and that maybe Wyatt could shed some light. Wyatt carefully responded that Sally was “complicated,” and Summer gently pressed for information about what might have happened before Sally left Los Angeles.
Just then, Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) approached the open office door and listened in.
Flo heard Wyatt tell Summer to ask Sally and that he didn’t want to be on either side of this issue. Wyatt took off, and Summer stayed in the office to make a quick call. Flo entered the office, saying that she couldn’t help but overhearing. Flo introduced herself as Wyatt’s girlfriend and Summer asked if Flo knew Sally.
“Do I ever,” Flo said, offering to answer Summer’s questions. Summer said that she was good, but Flo continued, saying that what Summer had heard about Sally doesn’t even scratch the surface. “There’s always more when it comes to Sally,” Flo said. Summer looked intrigued.
