The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 1, reveals that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) tried to explain his position again, but Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) felt like he’d explained over and over.
Brooke felt like Thomas was making excuses to cover up what he really wanted when it came to Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle).
However, Thomas argued that what he wanted was Hope’s happiness. Although Brooke wanted to support Thomas as Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) son, she had to think about her own daughter. Brooke held firm on her belief that Thomas was still obsessed with Hope.
Meanwhile, Ridge praised Thomas during a conversation with Hope, so she wondered what he was getting at. Hope briefly thought Ridge was rooting for them to get together, but Ridge clarified that if Hope found her way back to Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), then great.
Ridge was just making it clear that Hope’s happiness was all Thomas wanted.
Hope acknowledged that Thomas came forward with the paternity truth right away – and Ridge thought Thomas deserved credit for that. He was glad they could see the changes in Thomas and wanted his son to feel supported. Ridge just wished Brooke could find a way to be supportive as well.
When Ridge rejoined Brooke and Thomas on Thursday’s B&B episode, he found the argument still in progress.
Brooke admitted that Thomas had made some changes, but she felt there was a long way before the finish line. She felt it was best if Thomas kept his distance from Hope.
After Brooke took off to see someone, Thomas told Ridge that Brooke would never trust him, not around Hope.
Thomas felt like this went back to when he was a kid. Brooke was always trying to drive a wedge between Ridge and Thomas – making Ridge choose between Brooke or his kids. Thomas argued that nothing had changed.
At Spencer Publications, Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) walked in on Liam struggling to nail down what he wanted in the card for Hope’s flowers. Wyatt pointed out that Liam had already sent flowers to Hope and didn’t think bouquets would be enough.
Wyatt felt Liam had to figure out how to win Hope’s trust back because a “certain Forrester dipstick” would take advantage of the situation. Liam argued that he couldn’t keep coming at Hope with accusations about Thomas.
If Thomas was the focal point, Liam wouldn’t get the reunion he wanted. He felt like he had to prove to Hope that they could still have the future together. When Brooke walked in, she piped up in agreement.
After Brooke congratulated Wyatt on his engagement, he thanked Brooke for everything she’d done for Flo Logan (Katrina Bowden) and decided to make himself scarce. On his way out, Wyatt told Liam to think about what he said and warned his brother not to let his guard down.
Brooke realized this was about Thomas and insisted that’s why she came. She was worried about Thomas and thought Liam should be, too. Brooke felt like if Liam didn’t act fast, then Thomas would pull something and make it so Liam would never get back together with Hope.
Liam wanted to give Hope the space she asked for, but Brooke felt her warning to Thomas wouldn’t be enough. She needed Liam’s help and wanted him to get Hope back as soon as possible. Brooke pushed Liam to get Hope back NOW.
Back at Forrester Creations on Thursday’s Bold and the Beautiful episode, Hope was snippy when Flo approached her. Flo knew it was jarring for Hope to see her there at work, but Hope suggested she wouldn’t ask Flo to quit and snarked about them being family.
Flo acknowledged her Logan name change and wondered how much that bothered Hope on a scale of one to 10. Hope suggested it was a lot to process, but Flo noted that it meant the world being a Logan – and it would mean even more if Hope could forgive her.
“Forgive you?” Hope asked, almost in irritated disbelief. Flo knew it was a lot to ask, but Hope pointed out Flo was going to ask anyway. Although Flo could never forgive herself or make up for what she did, she hated the idea of always being an awful person in Hope’s eyes.
Flo understood if Hope wasn’t ready, but she hoped for acceptance like Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) and Thomas received.
Thomas later joined Hope and voiced his frustration over Brooke’s refusal to see that he’s changed. He didn’t see what was so wrong about wanting to see that beautiful smile back on Hope’s face again.
Thomas argued that whether Hope reunited with Liam or not, he respected what Hope wanted.
Thomas added that he’d always be there for Hope: as a designer, as her friend, as a father to their child, whatever she needed. “My commitment to you – and yes, my love for you – will never waver,” Thomas declared.
