The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 23, reveals that Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) defended John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novaln) desire to see his birth mom, so Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) got her miracle ahead of Christmas. Here’s how the drama played out on Thursday’s B&B episode.
At the cabin, Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) and Kelly Spencer (Avalon and Collette Gray) helped Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) wrapped presents for other less fortunate kids.
After Douglas reflected on it being Hayes Forrester Finnegan’s (Piper Harriot) first Christmas ever, he took Kelly to the main house for some of Grandma’s cookies.
Once Hope was alone with Liam, she let him know she fully intended to see Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) over the holidays. However, Hope respected Liam’s feelings and pointed out he didn’t have to be at the cabin when it happened.
After that issue was put to rest, Liam said he had a small pre-Christmas gift for Hope.
Liam talked about Hope being the light of his life and ultimately handed over a box with a flower necklace, which had Douglas and Beth’s names engraved on it. Hope was touched over the gesture and shared some kisses with Liam.
After Finn and Steffy put Hayes’ first Christmas ornament on the tree, Steffy talked about what a great holiday it would be with her mom around. Finn seemed a little down, so Steffy realized it was about Sheila and was sorry about the situation.
In Sheila’s hotel room, she got a visit and a Christmas present from Deacon. Sheila found out Deacon was hopeful about spending time with Hope for the holiday.
Sheila grumbled about not even getting an emoji response from Finn. Sheila felt this was due to Steffy and now Taylor’s influence.
After Sheila decided to take matters into her own hands, she got Finn on a video call. Steffy encouraged Finn to answer so they could set Sheila straight about not coming on Christmas.
Sheila didn’t think it was too much to ask to see her son, but Steffy insisted it was in this case.
Finn confirmed that a Christmas visit wasn’t going to happen, but he told Sheila to have a good holiday before disconnecting.
Taylor eavesdropped on the video call and looked pensive about it. She later cornered Finn alone to ask how he really felt about not being with Sheila over the holidays.
Finn understood Steffy’s position and thought his own feelings didn’t matter, but Taylor countered that they most certainly did.
Steffy interrupted and argued that Finn was fine with not seeing Sheila, but Taylor didn’t think that was necessarily the case.
Taylor defended Finn’s natural instinct to want to see Sheila and tried to get Steffy to understand that connection as a mother herself.
Taylor felt like Finn and Steffy should seriously consider inviting Sheila over for Christmas.
Steffy was horrified that Taylor would even suggest it and said there was no way she’d allow it. However, Taylor heard the emotion in Sheila’s voice and felt they had to consider Finn’s feelings, too.
Steffy reminded Taylor that Sheila was unstable, but Taylor felt they’d just be opening the door a little rather than completely.
Taylor wanted to look in Sheila’s eyes and study her during this visit. She felt she would know if Sheila was truly reformed or as dangerous as ever.
Back with Sheila, she ranted about Steffy being the reason Finn was so cold to her. Deacon argued that Finn was a “grown-ass man” and didn’t see him stepping up to fight for any time with his birth mother.
Sheila wanted a chance to prove herself and feared she’d never see Finn again, let alone at Christmas.
Sheila was really hoping for a Christmas miracle – just some kind of magic to melt Steffy’s cold heart.
After Deacon hugged Sheila, she got another video call from Finn and Steffy. Sheila was amazed to learn they changed their minds and were willing to let her see Finn on Christmas Eve.
Steffy admitted it was Taylor’s idea, so Sheila was grateful to both Steffy and Taylor. Sheila got emotional at the thought of spending her first Christmas with her son.
