The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Thursday, July 8, reveals that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) spilled Vinny Walker’s (Joe LoCicero) suicide and murder setup to Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) while Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) had a cabin fantasy behind bars.
In the caged basement area of Spencer Publications, Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) assured Thomas that he was a fixer! Justin felt confident he could fix this despite Hope finding Thomas’ phone.
Justin also ranted about all Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) criminal behavior and insisted that he belonged in jail.
Although Thomas agreed Bill was a monster, he reiterated that Justin couldn’t make Bill pay like this. Thomas kept begging for his freedom while a horrified Hope eavesdropped.
Meanwhile, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) found Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) in Bill’s office and mentioned he was there to see Justin.
After Wyatt found out Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) had her baby, Ridge told the story of Hope finding out Justin had Thomas’ phone.
Ridge recapped how Thomas supposedly stopped by for something related to Eye on Fashion and left his phone behind before leaving town. Wyatt thought that sounded weird and agreed to summon Justin to speak with Ridge.
Down in the basement again, Justin realized Wyatt was calling and told Thomas that he’d be back. After punching a code into the security pad, Justin waltzed off as the door started to close.
Hope shimmed out from under the stairs where she was hiding and rushed over to stop the door with her purse.
Thomas was stunned to see Hope, who started rummaging around for a key to free him. Hope was confused as Thomas explained Justin knocked him out and brought him down there.
Thomas said this was all about taking over Spencer Publications, which baffled Hope even further.
Thomas pushed Hope to stop searching for the key and look at him. He wanted to tell Hope this before it was too late and launched the story of the messages on his phone from Vinny.
Thomas insisted he found it wasn’t an accident, but Hope reminded Thomas that Liam didn’t run Vinny down on purpose.
However, Thomas clarified that there was more to it than any of them realized. He explained that Vinny must’ve expected serious jail time and that he wanted Thomas to be with Hope.
Although Hope was frustrated since she didn’t see the point in telling her all this, Thomas quickly got to it. He blurted out that Vinny jumped in front of the car, took his own life and framed Liam.
Upstairs, Justin told Ridge he’d have to make an appointment like everyone else. He thought Ridge had some nerve coming into his office raising his voice like this.
“I’m sorry, YOUR office?!” Wyatt piped up on Thursday’s B&B episode.
Wyatt pushed Justin for an explanation regarding the phone, so Justin offered the same flimsy excuse about Thomas leaving it behind after the interview. Justin suggested Thomas didn’t have time to come back for it before his trip.
Ridge said he didn’t buy that story the first time he heard it and he wasn’t buying it this time either. He urged Justin to try again and demanded to know where his son was.
In his jail cell, Liam couldn’t shake his questions about why Vinny was on the road that night. After flashing through some memories with Hope and the kids, Liam thought back to his final night at the cabin before turning himself in.
Liam eventually went to his happy place in his own mind. He created a new reality in his head where he was rushing into Hope’s arms and twirling her around because he was finally home.
After Liam snapped back to the real world, he muttered to himself about how he had to have faith that the truth would come out.
