The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 3, reveals that Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) demanded his own arrest and told Deputy Chief Bradley Baker (Dan Martin) to free Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).
Meanwhile, Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) spilled the truth to Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang), so here’s what went down on Thursday’s B&B episode.
At Spencer Publications, Bill was concerned when Hope came in without Liam. Hope revealed that Liam tricked Bill so that he could do the right thing.
Bill was horrified to learn Liam confessed and was taken into custody. He wondered how Hope could let Liam do this, but she put the blame on Bill for orchestrating the cover-up.
Hope insisted that if she lost her husband and the kids lost their father, she would never forgive Bill. However, Bill asked if Hope could forgive herself! He ultimately refused to let Liam spend one night behind bars because of the part his father played in this.
Bill insisted he wouldn’t rest until Liam was back home with his family and vowed to do whatever it took.
At the police station, Baker grilled Liam again and could tell he was holding back. He warned that it’d just make things worse for Liam and the people who care about him.
Baker didn’t think Liam’s hit-and-run story lined up with the Liam Spencer that everyone else seems to know. He also didn’t think it made sense for Liam to be so traumatized – yet capable of carrying out this intricate cover-up on his own.
Liam insisted that all that mattered was Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) was dead because of him. “You’ve got your man,” Liam said. He thought they were done until his attorney could be present, but Bill burst in and lashed out at Baker.
Once Bill settled down, he asked for some time alone with his son. Baker gave Bill five minutes, so that led to Bill and Liam bickering over what to do.
Bill insisted that he committed the crime and persuaded Liam to keep quiet about the cover-up. He added that Liam wasn’t taking the fall for this, but Liam wanted Bill to stay free for Will Spencer’s (Finnegan George) sake.
Liam also felt like Bill could watch out for Hope and the kids, but Bill argued that Liam was the one who needed to be there for them.
When Baker came back to take Liam away, Bill shouted for him to stop. He explained that Baker had the wrong man and noted that Liam was telling the truth about Vinny popping up out of nowhere.
Bill said he knew because he was in the car that night – and he committed the only crime by driving away and covering it up.
If Baker wanted to arrest someone, Bill said it should be him. He pushed Baker to lock him up and let Liam go free! Meanwhile, Brooke was at the cabin with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) as they dropped off a spa day certificate for Liam and Hope.
Brooke was thrilled over the news that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was having a baby boy and suggested a celebration.
Since things were going so well for Hope and Liam as well as Steffy and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), Brooke thought everyone should come together for a special evening.
After Ridge left, Hope appeared looking distraught. Brooke pushed Hope to come clean about what was bothering her, so she reminded her mom of the night Liam first kissed her after moving out.
Hope mentioned that Bill had a little too much to drink that night, so Liam drove them home. When Hope noted it was the same night Vinny was killed, Brooke acknowledged that the cops still hadn’t found out who did it.
Hope corrected Brooke since the person responsible turned himself in today. She stammered as she tried to explain and eventually revealed Liam was behind the wheel.
Brooke was in shock as she learned Liam didn’t have time to react. She hugged crying Hope, who admitted she just found out. Although Hope was proud of Liam for confessing, she felt her heart shatter when she saw her husband in handcuffs.
