The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Tuesday, February 2, reveal that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) waited anxiously at the cabin. Both Hope and Liam admitted to being nervous about Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) paternity test.
Liam insisted that he never meant to hurt Hope, and Hope said that she was trying to figure out a way for them to get through this. Liam lamented that he robbed Hope of her joy and that it was a terrible mistake. Hope noted that the baby wasn’t a mistake and that he or she was a miracle.
Liam thought that Hope was a really good person, and then Hope asked how Liam was doing with all of this. Liam admitted to being stressed, but he thought that he deserved it.
Hope said that Liam had hurt her, and that she was in pain, but that actions had consequences and they had to face them. “Together, I hope,” Liam said. “I hope so, too,” Hope said.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Steffy and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) waited for Dr. Campbell (Tina Huang) to prepare the paternity test. Steffy thought that Finn seemed very calm, and Finn reassured her that whatever happened, they’d deal with it.
Steffy said that she just wanted the test to show that Finn was the father.
Eventually, Dr. Campbell returned and said they were ready for testing. Dr. Campbell explained how the test isolated the fetal DNA and compared it to the potential father’s DNA.
Steffy asked if there could be any issues in the testing process, and Dr. Campbell said that Steffy was far enough along to secure a result. “Whatever happens, we got this,” Finn reassured Steffy.
After the samples were taken, Steffy asked if they could get an answer today, but Dr. Campbell said that wasn’t possible. Steffy seemed stressed, and Dr. Campbell advised Steffy not to let this put stress on her or the baby.
Dr. Campbell took off, and Steffy said that the baby just had to be Finn’s.
In the Forrester Creations CEO office, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) was in disbelief at what Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) just said. “I saw it,” Ridge said. Carter simply couldn’t believe that Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) and Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) were a thing.
Carter even thought this was some sort of joke, but Ridge said he wouldn’t play Carter like that.
Carter then said that this must be about Ridge’s residual anger over Beth Spencer’s (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez) kidnapping. Ridge said that it wasn’t, and he said that he loved Carter and couldn’t let him marry someone who was playing him. Carter seemed agitated.
“Ok, let’s hear it,” Carter relented. Ridge then told the story about how he overheard Zoe and Zende in the living room at the Forrester mansion and how Zoe pursued Zende.
“I was there, Carter, I saw it,” Ridge said. “She only committed to you after she knew that Zende was no longer an option.”
Carter looked very upset, insisting that Zoe and Zende were just friends. Carter seemed to be in denial, saying that Zoe came to him last night more committed than ever. “I scared her,” Ridge said miserably.
“She thought I was going to talk to you first.” Ridge urged Carter to talk with Zoe, and he left the office.
In the Forrester Creations backstage area, Zoe talked with Zende, wanting reassurance that everything that had happened wouldn’t come between their working relationship. Zoe was relieved when Zende said that everything was ok, and Zoe explained that she realized that she does want to marry Carter.
Zende worried, since Ridge was very protective and loyal toward Carter. “He heard everything and saw you try to kiss me,” Zende said. Still Zoe thought that life would go on and everything would be ok. Zoe then got a text from Carter wanting to meet right away. “Trust me, I fixed this,” Zoe said.
Zoe went to see Carter in the CEO office, where Carter was fuming. Zoe rambled happily about planning their wedding and hiring a wedding planner. Zoe quickly noticed that Carter was upset, and Carter asked if he should be upset. Zoe said no.
Carter mentioned Zoe’s rapid turnaround in wanting to plan a wedding, and how that was a big shift. “I just wanted to be sure,” Zoe explained. “Are you sure?” Carter asked angrily. “Am I really the man you want to marry, Zoe?”
