The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Tuesday, February 23, reveal that Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) caught up at Spencer Publications.
Liam lamented about how he had made a mess of things and hurt Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle), and that if he had confronted Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), none of this would have happened.
Bill suggested that Liam stop beating himself up, and he thought that Liam should look ahead to the future and the arrival of a new baby. Bill said that he was proud of Liam for owning his mistake and fixing what can be fixed.
Meanwhile, in the Forrester CEO office, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) expressed their love to each other. Finn said that he believed that Steffy loved him, but that there was another man in her life. “I want a life with you,” Steffy said.
Finn replied that he was asking about Steffy’s feelings for Liam. “If possible, would you reunite your family with Liam?” Finn asked. Just then, Hope walked in and said that she wanted to know the answer to that, too
. Steffy hesitated, then turned to Finn and again expressed that she wanted a life with him and only him.
Finn seemed satisfied, and he left Hope and Steffy to talk alone. “Finn is my future, not Liam,” Steffy told Hope. “Your future is with Liam.” Steffy went onto say that they could all make it work, just like they did with Kelly Spencer (Colette and Avalon Gray).
But Hope said that the circumstances weren’t the same. “Where do we go from here?” Hope asked.
Steffy said that she was praying that things worked out for her and Finn, and that the cycle between herself, Hope, and Liam needed to end. Steffy referenced her pill addiction and how part of it was about numbing the pain in her heart.
“Then I made a mistake, and I’m so sorry,” Steffy said. “I was positive that Finn was the father, and now we have to live with the results.”
Back at Spencer Publications, Bill and Liam continued their conversation. Liam asked about Bill’s reconciliation attempts with Katie Logan (Heather Tom), and he offered to help if he could. Bill said that Liam had enough on his plate. Just then, Finn walked in and agreed with Bill.
Finn asked to speak to Liam privately, and Bill took off. “Do you truly understand the mess you’ve made of so many lives?” Finn said. “Or is that just what you do?”
Finn went on about the chaos that Liam caused, wondering if any part of Liam relished in keeping Hope and Steffy tied to him forever.
Finn’s rant continued, noting that so many people were hurt by Liam’s actions, and that Liam apparently needed so much affection and adoration from women. “I’m putting you on notice – you’re not going to hurt Steffy again,” Finn fumed. “Got it, Liam? Not again!”
In the backstage area at Forrester Creations, Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) continued talking with Thomas. “Now’s your chance to get Hope for yourself – it’s what you deserve, man,” Vinny urged, saying that the paternity test was a lifetime ticket to happiness for Thomas.
Just then, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) walked in and asked what was going on. Vinny cavalierly blurted something about Steffy getting knocked up with Liam’s kid, and Ridge looked appalled while Thomas looked exasperated.
Vinny rambled about Thomas and Hope finally working out, and Ridge warned Vinny not to put crazy thoughts in Thomas’ head.
Vinny went on, saying about how sometimes you have to nudge situations, then he said that he had to get back to the lab. After Vinny left, Ridge opined that Vinny wasn’t the person to take advice from.
Thomas took issue with Ridge’s tone, saying that he wasn’t a little kid, while Ridge bellowed on about staying away from Vinny.
Thomas got lost in thought, thinking back to Vinny’s statement about nudging things along, working in the lab, and how Vinny talked about the fetal DNA not matching Finn’s DNA.
Thomas looked worried, and after Ridge left, Thomas thought some more about Vinny’s words. “No, it can’t be,” Thomas said to himself. “He wouldn’t.”
