The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Tuesday, March 23, reveals that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) gushed to Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) about Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) sketching a dress design for Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez). Brooke felt confident Douglas would join the family business one day.
Hope agreed since Douglas wants to be just like his dad, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson). Talk turned to Hope’s marriage since she was clearly troubled.
Hope admitted she loved Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), but she couldn’t just pretend that night with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) wasn’t a big deal.
Hope added that Liam confirmed her worst fear – that he told Steffy he loved her that night. Brooke was sympathetic, but she didn’t think Hope should let her marriage fall apart over this.
Hope argued that Liam could’ve been the father of Steffy’s baby, but Brooke reminded her that John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) was the dad instead.
At Forrester Creations on Tuesday’s Bold and the Beautiful episode, Thomas talked about how grateful he was to be working with Hope on the Future line. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) hoped Thomas was only talking about the line itself.
Ridge wanted reassurance that there was no reason to be concerned about Thomas’ feelings for Hope.
Thomas suggested that he couldn’t control what was in his heart, but he could control whether or not he acted on his feelings – and he didn’t intend to act on them.
Thomas pointed out that he came forward right away with the paternity truth. The old Thomas might’ve used that information to his advantage, so Ridge admitted that was the case.
Thomas went on to insist that his only goals were to be a good father and focus on this line. He reflected on the pain he caused Hope and how much he hated it. Ridge argued that Hope would have to decide if her marriage could be saved.
Whether Liam and Hope stay together or split, Thomas argued that he wanted what Hope wanted. He credited Hope with being an amazing co-parent.
Ridge reminded Thomas that Hope wasn’t available to him, so Thomas said he wasn’t dwelling on it. That said, Thomas was honest about where he stood. If Hope came to him and said she wanted to be a family with Thomas and Douglas, Thomas would be ecstatic.
Nevertheless, Thomas wasn’t holding out for that despite the fact that he’d always love Hope.
At Spencer Publications, Liam was distracted until Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) pushed him to open up. Liam was upset about blindsiding Hope not once but twice – first through the one-night stand and then through Steffy’s pregnancy.
Bill thought Liam should be grateful that he didn’t have a “walking, talking reminder” of his infidelity now that the paternity truth was out. Liam also mentioned his love profession to Steffy that night, but Bill felt Liam’s next move was most important.
Bill insisted that Liam had to do whatever it took to put his family back together. Back at the cabin, Brooke was upset about Hope’s struggles, especially since they made her vulnerable to the likes of Thomas.
However, Hope didn’t want to talk about Thomas and eventually decided to summon Liam.
When Liam took Hope’s call, she asked him to come over – and Bill thought that might be good news. Liam didn’t seem as sure, but Bill once again pushed his son to do whatever it took to repair the damage.
As for Brooke, she wanted Hope to remember that everyone makes mistakes and that love means forgiveness. On her way out, Brooke wanted Hope to remember the good memories and her family with Liam. She argued that pride wasn’t important enough to just throw all that away.
Once Liam came home on Tuesday’s B&B episode, Hope noted Liam not being the father didn’t erase his night with Steffy. She opened up about her pain and knew they’d been stuck in limbo.
Hope teared up over their little cabin oasis with the kids, but no matter how hard she tried – she just couldn’t get that night out of her head.
Hope just wasn’t sure how to move on from that. She told Liam they needed to get past this feeling of being stuck and figure out what the future held for their marriage. As other B&B details come in, we’ll deliver updates.
