The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) will get some big news about her impending bundle of joy during the week of February 8-12.
After it’s safe to do a paternity test, Steffy will get the results back and hope John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) is the father of her child.
In a new issue of SOD, B&B Head Writer and Executive Producer Bradley Bell offered some hints about the looming “baby daddy” drama. Let’s examine the clues and try to figure out where this hot plot is headed next.
For starters, Bell insisted that “Steffy & Finn’s paternity results will dictate everyone’s fate.” Now that could just be a slip of the tongue, but it’s interesting that Bell said Steffy and Finn’s results rather than just Steffy’s. It could be that Bell was offering a little paternity hint without meaning to.
That doesn’t mean Finn will be revealed as the father right away, even if he’s indeed the bio dad. There’s another important clue to consider, which came in Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) section of Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for February sweeps.
After Bell talked about Thomas’ guilt and need to comfort Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle), he added another intriguing line right after. “But there may be other unknown forces in play pulling the puppet strings of everyone involved,” Bell teased.
It seems crucial that this hint was in Thomas’ preview section specifically. Could it be because these “unknown forces” will be connected to Thomas? Since the clues perhaps add up to paternity test manipulation by someone with Thomas ties, Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) makes the most sense.
Thomas had a chat with Vinny not too long ago about how Hope needed a one-woman man. Vinny called Hope an angel for saving Thomas’ life, so it’s easy to see how Vinny might decide Thomas was right all along – that Hope and Thomas belong together.
Vinny’s best shot of making that happen would be to switch the paternity test results so that Liam is the father of Steffy’s baby.
If Steffy has yet another child with Liam, Hope may not be able to get past that. It could eliminate all hope for “Lope” and give Thomas the chance he needs to grow closer to Hope in the paternity results aftermath.
Maybe Vinny has a hospital lab connection due to the drugs he floats around. Perhaps Vinny could call in a favor and insist that the results should say Steffy’s baby if Liam’s – no matter what the true outcome is.
That’d leave it a mystery whether the baby is actually Liam’s or Finn’s. However, it’d seemingly set up the twist of making Finn the real father down the road.
Regardless, it doesn’t seem likely that Thomas will manipulate the paternity results since he’s on a better path now. It also doesn’t line up with this idea of pulling the puppet strings of everyone involved.
That makes it sound like Thomas will be manipulated as well – and it just might be Vinny who’s playing puppet master.
