The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 7, reveals that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) found caged Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) begging for freedom – and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) got some disturbing news about his son.
At Forrester Creations on Wednesday’s B&B episode, Hope walked in to find Ridge and Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) discussing Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) new baby.
Hope acknowledged it must be a special time for them, but she was struggling since Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) was still stuck in jail.
Hope felt there must be some evidence that could prove Liam didn’t hit Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) on purpose.
Hope admitted that Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) still hadn’t been able to get Liam out on bail. She mentioned visiting Spencer Publications and realizing that Justin had Thomas’s cell phone.
Hope pointed out that Justin wouldn’t give it to her and that he was holding onto it while Thomas was out of town.
Ridge was taken aback since it didn’t make sense for Thomas to leave without telling anyone.
Ridge also found it strange that Justin had Thomas’ cell phone and didn’t trust the guy who threw him out of a helicopter.
After Hope left, Ridge remained distracted by Thomas’ disappearance. However, Ridge acknowledged the possibility that Thomas had met someone and was off spending time with her.
Brooke suggested that wherever Thomas was, he would check in with somebody very soon.
In the caged basement area of Spencer Publications, Thomas guzzled the rest of a water bottle and started shouting for help again.
Upstairs in Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) office, Justin fumed about how stupid he was for letting Hope see that he had Thomas’ phone.
Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) caught Justin yelling at himself, but he admitted he tends to yell at himself sometimes, too.
Wyatt bickered with Justin over some contracts before reminding Justin that Liam and Bill’s case had to be the focus. Justin insisted that was his priority before rushing out to deal with something.
After Justin returned to the basement cage, Thomas complained about not getting enough to eat down there. Justin had a lot on his plate and admitted Hope saw Thomas’ phone after she showed up.
Once Justin went on another rant about Bill, Thomas argued that maybe Bill would stay locked up for what he’d done. He just knew that Liam shouldn’t have to pay for what his father did.
Thomas added that people would come looking for him and reminded Justin that they already knew he had Thomas’ phone. Thomas pushed Justin to let him out before it was too late.
When Hope arrived in Bill’s office, she found Wyatt and discussed Liam’s case with him briefly. Both Hope and Wyatt knew they had to get Liam out of jail, but Wyatt was trying to trust Justin.
After Wyatt dashed off to a meeting, Hope thought back to hearing Thomas’ ringtone. She started rummaging through the desk until she heard Justin get a food order from an assistant.
Hope followed Justin down to the basement and hid around the corner while he delivered food to Thomas.
Hope listened as Thomas ranted about Justin having him locked up like a caged animal. Thomas added that Hope knew Justin had his phone, so it was only a matter of time before the truth came out.
“Set me free! Let me go!” Thomas shouted – and Hope looked stunned as she continued listening nearby. We’ll pass along updates as other B&B details come in.
