The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 1, reveals that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) canceled her courthouse appointment to finalize her marriage to John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) also came clean about his true feelings about Quinn Forrester’s (Rena Sofer) reunion, so let’s discuss all Wednesday’s B&B drama.
At the cliff house, Steffy seemed deep in thought and looked at the marriage certificate. She texted Finn about coming over since she needed to see him.
At the guest house without air conditioning, Finn was hot and shirtless in front of a fan. He got Steffy’s text along with a notification to remind him of their appointment at the courthouse.
When Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) showed up, Finn mentioned that appointment to file the marriage certificate and hoped it’d be a way to get them back on track.
Paris felt certain that Finn and Steffy would work through this. “She loves you. How could she not?” Paris asked.
Afterward, Finn joined Steffy at the cliff house, where they both admitted to having an awful night’s sleep. Finn apologized again for his betrayal and wanted desperately to make it up to Steffy.
Finn mentioned how they were supposed to go to the courthouse today to make their marriage official, so he thought that was the perfect reset.
“Our marriage can begin today,” Finn insisted as he held Steffy’s hands in his own. He wanted to sign those papers and commit to each other since they needed this for their future.
Steffy was grateful to Finn and always felt safe with him from the moment they met. Finn had never let her down…until now.
Steffy admitted she couldn’t file the marriage certificate today knowing Sheila’s out there. “She was at our house. She held our child. I can’t go to the courthouse with you,” Steffy said firmly.
Finn argued that Sheila was merely holding Hayes, not hurting him. He pointed out that he never would’ve let Sheila run off with their son, but Steffy didn’t think Finn was grasping what Sheila was capable of.
Now that Sheila had made inroads, Steffy fully expected more manipulation.
Steffy couldn’t think about anything else until she stopped thinking about Sheila. Finn mentioned that without filing the papers, they weren’t officially married.
“It’s not you; it’s her,” Steffy said. She didn’t want Sheila connected to this or them. Steffy wasn’t saying it wasn’t going to happen, but she was adamant about not finalizing their marriage today.
At Forrester Creations, Paris found Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) wrapping up a session with a model to tweak her gown a bit. Once the model was gone, Paris admitted she was concerned about Steffy and Finn’s relationship.
After Paris told Zende about Finn letting Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) hold Hayes Forrester Finnegan, he was stunned. Paris couldn’t believe Steffy threw Finn out of the house over it.
Paris thought that seemed kind of extreme and wondered how they’d deal with this if Steffy couldn’t even look at Finn.
Zende was surprised by just how invested Paris was in Finn and Steffy’s marriage. Paris gushed about how good Finn was for Steffy and insisted she had to forgive Finn so they could move on.
In the main office, Carter had a flashback where Quinn talked about feeling like she was leaving part of herself behind.
When Quinn appeared, Carter admitted he was just thinking about her and asked about her reunion with Eric Forrester (John McCook).
Quinn remembered Eric’s erectile dysfunction confession, but she stayed tight-lipped about it and told Carter that she had a lovely night with her husband.
Quinn said they just talked, but she added that they hadn’t been that open and honest with each other in a long time.
Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) walked in and didn’t seem thrilled to see Quinn alone in a room with Carter. He congratulated Quinn in person on the reunion, but he wondered if he had to remind his mom not to screw this up.
Quinn eventually changed the subject to Wyatt and Flo Logan’s (Katrina Bowden) wedding since they’d been engaged for far too long. Wyatt teased Quinn about all her hounding, but he thought it was good to see her acting like herself again.
Once Quinn was alone with Carter, she pushed for his true feelings on her reunion with Eric. Carter admitted that although he was happy for them, he still missed Quinn.
Quinn talked about how things weren’t quite the same with Eric – and she mentioned thinking you know how someone’s feeling only to realize you’ve got it all wrong.
Carter suggested it must’ve been very fulfilling to be back home with Eric, but Quinn looked uneasy. She talked about how she’d changed along with Eric, so they were just trying to be honest about all of it.
Carter started to ask if Quinn had told Eric about their continued romance, but she dropped a piece of jewelry and touched hands with Carter as he picked it up for her.
Quinn then confirmed she’d left that part out, so Carter insisted it was in the past and that he supported her reunion.
That said, Carter missed holding Quinn, lying in bed with her and making love to her. He didn’t want to make Quinn uncomfortable, but he wanted to tell the truth since she asked how he really felt.
Carter understood that despite what they once shared, Quinn was now committed to Eric.
Back at the guest house, Paris found Finn after his run and asked how things went at the courthouse. Finn confessed that Steffy canceled the appointment and couldn’t finalize their marriage with Sheila still out there.
Finn said his one goal was always to make this incredible woman feel safe and secure, but that wasn’t how Steffy was feeling right now – not about Sheila or their relationship.
Paris insisted she was so sorry before rushing toward Finn to embrace him.
