Tonight on NBC their new medical drama “The Good Doctor” airs with an all-new Monday, May 31, 2021, episode and we have you The Good Doctor recap below. On tonight’s The Good Doctor season 4 episode, 19 called, “Venga,” as per the ABC synopsis, “During part one of the two-part season finale, the St. Bonaventure team travels to Guatemala on a surgical mission to help patients at a rural hospital.
Once there, the team faces a small community that is in desperate need of their help but are assigned the daunting task of identifying who they can help most. And while Shaun seems to be thriving in Guatemala, Lea is still struggling with the loss of her baby.”

In tonight’s The Good Doctor episode, the St. Bonaventure team is traveling to Guatemala, everyone is arriving at the airport. Alex gets dropped off by his girlfriend and when she lands a big kiss on him, Morgan is watching. Aaron drops off Shaun and Lea, he tells Lea if she wants to talk, she can call him. Marcus is a last-minute addition, he brings his own toilet seat.
Claire is happy to be on the trip, after all the losses they have suffered throughout the year. They arrive in Guatemala and some goats get in front of their bus and they have to stop. Shaun gets out and surprises everyone when he gets out and speaks Spanish. When the goat herder sees that he is a doctor, he shows him a fungal rash on his back.
Alex offers to help Morgan with her bags, but she says no.
Evaluation day 1. Audrey has the first patient and he has a huge lump in his lower abdomen, he has it for a year now. His parents died two years ago and he is the only provider for his siblings, so he couldn’t go to a doctor. Shaun and Claire are with a young girl, her blood is reversed and flowing the wrong way, Shaun has only seen this happen in infants. It would have been simple to treat them as an infant, but not now, they can’t help her. Claire goes outside the room and cries when she sees the mother start crying when Shaun gives her the news.
Marcus brought a toilet seat with her and is now nicknamed “Dr. Toilet Seat.” His patient is Bastion, he has a huge mass on the side of his face.
Patient after patient, the team decides if they are a “No, Maybe or Yes,” to get operated on. Even though Bastion is a no, Marcus shows Audrey his x-ray. Marcus is convinced that he can help him, Audrey tells him that there is too much of high risk, he could bleed out.
Shaun is examining a man, he thinks he could have Angina.
Claire is examining a woman, who has pain in her side, fever, and vomits a lot. Claire tells her daughter that she thinks her mother has gallstones and will need surgery. Her mother says no. Claire is surprised, this is the reason why she is there. The woman says she can’t have surgery, she has to work to feed her daughter.
Morgan tells a patient’s father that they can’t operate on his son, the father thanks her for trying and tells her God bless. He goes back to see his son and is all cheerful, Morgan looks like she is going to crack, Alex is watching her.
Lea is gone looking for a blanket for a little boy and sees a father and a mother with their new child.
The rest of the team is going over all the files, to choose the ones that they are going to operate on.
Later, the team is out for drinks, Alex tries to talk to Morgan and she storms off, she runs after her and asks her if she is ok. She tells him that he drew a line, he doesn’t get to ask her how she is anymore. Audrey is going back to her hotel, she catches a cab and the doctor who is running the facility there asks her for a ride. Soon thereafter they find out that they are being kidnapped. They are brought into a house where a woman is in labor. Audrey goes to help her, she is fully dilated, Audrey can hear a heartbeat. The baby is delivered and is healthy.
Lea goes back in to see the mother and baby, she gives her a little pair of socks she found in her suitcase for the baby, Isabella.
Claire is with Lea in the hallway, she sees her having a hard time and tells her it is ok, not to be ok. Lea says that every time she thinks she is getting better, it is not better. She knows it is a process, but it is a terrible process. Claire says she doesn’t have to go through it alone. Lea hasn’t told Shaun how hard a time she is doing, she says he is doing important work and he can’t fix her. Claire says it is not about fixing her, it is about the two of them being together for each other.
Audrey and the doctor are back at the hotel, they lean in for a big kiss and she tells him she is not tired, he says him either.
Shaun is with Lea, she tells him that she doesn’t want to ruin his trip, but she is sad, every time something reminds her of a baby she is sad. And, every time he is happy it makes her feel sad. He asks her what will help, she says nothing. She says looking at his blue eyes breaks her heart because she thought she would have them. She says her parents want her to go home for a while, they think it will help. And, she thinks it will help. He takes her hand, he says he is sorry she is sad.
