In tonight’s The Masked Singer episode, it begins with host Nick Cannon welcoming everyone to the big semi-finals, only four singers remain and for the first time ever, there is not a clear front-runner. Tonight is very important. Also, last week the mysterious and slightly annoying super sleuth rooster Cluedle-Doo promised to reveal his real identity.
We don’t know when and we don’t know how but he is a big star. Our panel: Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, and Ken Jeong are back with guest panelists, three-time Grammy winner, Darius Rucker.
The talent this season has been 10 out of 10 and tonight’ the semi-finalists are on cloud nine. Even a magic eight ball won’t predict who will make it to next week’s finale. It’s been a 24/7 of masked talent. Yeti, Black Swan, Chameleon and Piglet have survived and are now fighting for a spot in the finale. And, a certain birdie who has been messing with the panel reveals himself.
All of our masked singers have a connection with a panelist and tonight it each will be revealed.
We begin with the abominable showman, Yeti who says he grew up without a dad, but he did knock on his door when he was an adult. He is ready to celebrate how far he has come. The Yeti is singing, “Celebration,” by Kool & The Gang. It is time for the first-ever “Clue Drop,” Yeti is for Nicole, it is a surfboard and it says “Santa Monica.” Yeti says they rubbed elbows there.
Panel Comments: Nicole: “I can’t even believe how hard it is to move like that to every lyric, and he’s singing, he doesn’t miss a beat, that was crazy. I think it is Marcus Houston. But it could be his cousin, Jay.” Darius: “That was an impressive man and to do that in that suit and bring it, and your vocals man, that song is no joke, you brought the party. You talked about the North Pole, so I was thinking Sisqo” Ken: “You are one of my favorites of the series, honestly I think this could be Justin Bieber.”
The Black Swan is next, she shows a maple leaf in her clue video and she says to be unafraid. The Black Sawn is singing, “Tequila,” by Dan & Shay. Clue Drop: Robin and it is a tag with “celebrity VIP,” and Black Swan says she met him after an after-party.
Panel Comments: Ken: “Week in week out you take us on an emotional journey, you are more than a performer, you are an experience. Shania Twain, Celine Dion, or Anne Murray. Or, maybe Bjork.” Darius: “Alanis Morrisette, she is Canadian.” Robin: “I think it is Carly Rae Jepsen.”
The Chameleon is next, he says he loves the character. He says he has a lot of confidence and he is able to adapt and adjust. He was often the new kid when he was young, but he was always good at it. The Chameleon is singing, “OH BOY” by Cam’Ron ft. Juelz Santana. Clue Drop: Darius and it’s a snake, they shared the stage and Pheonix was there, and the corn dogs were delicious.
Panel Comments: Darius: “Rap is not easy to do and the way you right behind the beat and you were slamming down, that was awesome. I think it is Larry Fitzgerald.” Robin: “I think you are going far.” Jenny: “I think it is Riff Raff, I am sure he toured in the UK.” Ken: “All Chameleon roads lead 2 Chainz.”
The piglet is the last Masked Singer to perform, he says he had a grueling schedule when he was younger. He tries to set examples for his kids every day. He has no regrets. The Piglet is singing, “Bruises” by Lewis Capaldi. Clue Drop: Jenny and it is a poker chip, Piglet says he always goes all in for her, especially for charity.
Panel Comments: Nicole: “Piglet came out swinging, that was crazy and your strongest vocal performance by far, that was perfection.” Jenny: “I saw the Lama, this could be Drew Lachey.” Ken: “I’m thinking about the Simple Life, and I am thinking about Joe Madden.” Darius: “Football, Friday Night Lights, this is Tim McGraw.”
Cluedle-Doo has a message, he is ready to reveal his identity. But first, he wants to give them a clue to who he is. The rooster sings, “Return Of The Mack,” by Mark Morrison. Clue Drop: Ken and it is a giraffe, this is not the first time he and Ken were around animals together, but it won’t be the last.
Panel Comments: Ken: “I am afraid to say that was amazing, that was insanely good. I still hate you, but great job. Kevin James?” Robin: “I just feel like I should know who you are, I feel like I danced to your music, I’ve heard you before. I can’t put my pointer on it, but just for fun, this is Jamie Foxx.” Nicole: “I am doubling down on Jamie Foxx.” Jenny: “This is driving me crazy, his tone sounded like AKon.” Darius: “I got to go with Ken, I think this is Kevin James.”
