In tonight’s The Masked Singer episode, there was a double elimination night for “The Masked Singer”. It was the Group A Semifinals and the show had to celebrate it one way or another. There was also a guest star tonight. Will.i.am joined the cast and he was a welcomed addition to the team as they listened to all four contenders. Up first was the Bull. The Bull was known for being a triple threat because he does it all and his performances always come across as concert-worthy. The Bull was a great singer. He performed “Reign Over Me” and he instantly had the crowd on their feet. Everyone loves him. it was believed at first that he must be a boy bander and yet his clues tonight seemed to indicate that he actually doesn’t have a history in a boy band.
The Bull’s final clue was the word “ring”. He told Will.i.am that they have a lot in common and that does he “ring” a bell? Will.i.am said he got this. He claimed to know who the Bull was, but he might have been joking and so there’s no telling who was under that mask. The clues were sometimes very misleading. Next up was the Pepper. Pepper chose the song “Sign of the Times” and it was a beautiful rendition. She also either wasn’t a singer or was pretending not to be one. Her voice while good also had an untested part to it. She was on fire tonight and Ken believed he knew who she is. He believes it was Sara Bareilles. He was so sure that he decided to push the take-it-off button and unmask her.
It would have knocked Pepper out of the game. If she was Sara, she would officially be eliminated, and funnily enough that didn’t happen because Ken was wrong. It wasn’t Sara. The Pepper got to keep her mask on and Ken got punishment for wasting the button. He now has to wash all of Nick’s cars and there’s a lot of them because he has a lot of kids to transport. Next up was the Jester. The Jester spoke in a British accent and no one knew if it was real or not. He also turned things so much on his head with his latest performance because he performed a country song and he wasn’t really a singer. He was out of breath quite a few times and so figuring out who was behind the mask was more to the clues. The ever-changing clues.
The final performance of the night belonged to the Skunk. She performed “At Last” and she truly was a talent. The Skunk is a singer. There is no doubt about it because she sounded so amazing and so everyone believed she was a known singer. They shouted out names like Faith Evans or even Mary J. Blige. The final clue was actually the word “love”. Diddy was known as Love and so it could be Faith but Mary also had a connection with him and Nicole has a history with him as well. The Skunk did tell Nicole that they have a love connection and so that could mean Diddy or it could be something else. No one knows for sure. The clues were confusing people all the time and the judges were the clues’ favorite victims.
Now, with all the performances out of the way, it came time to unmask a couple of people. The first person to be unmasked as the Jester. There was some that it was Gene Simmons. There were some that it was Mr. Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But there were some that thought it was Dee Snyder. The Jester took off his mask and the person beneath it was Johnny Rotten. The lead singer of the Sex Pistols. The reason he was sounded so off with the country song because he was a punk rocker and he was used to singing differently. So, that one flew right over everyone’s heads. They didn’t know that they eliminating a legend or that the cake clue was about how kids pummeled the band with cake during a charity function.
The last unmasking was the Pepper. She was eliminated after all and everyone had thought about who was under that mask. There was Dido. Pink. There were also some that thought it was Natasha Bedingfield because of the Hollywood sign and so Nicole turned out to be right again because she correctly guessed it was Natasha. Natasha was a singer and she purposely was hiding her voice during an earlier performance but once she was unmasked she performed the song again and it sounded so different from her earlier performance. This time she was able to let go and instantly her voice was recognizable. And so it’s amazing that Nicole was able to correctly guess who was behind the mask in spite of all attempts to hide her voice.
THE END!
