Detective Angela Lopez was in a mood. Her husband came clean to her about what happened with the notorious crime boss he’s working for and so Angela offered her help. But Wes didn’t want help. He wants to fix things himself and Angela found that aggravating. It also roused her temper. Angela was angry with her husband and she was doing her best not to let that interfere with the job. She was riding with Officer Nolan. The two of them were following up on an assault allegation. An IRS Agent claims a man tried to assault him when he came to audit him and unfortunately the man in question is a sovereign citizen. He doesn’t believe he’s American in spite of living in the country his whole life and used to be playing taxes back before he became a nut.

They were doing this as Sergeant Bradford’s sister Jennifer came to town to see him. Jennifer wanted to discuss their dad and Bradford has been ignoring her calls. He did however mention possibly having dinner. He said they could talk tonight and Jennifer said she wasn’t falling for it. She said she’d go to dinner only to have him call and say he couldn’t make it at the last minute. Jennifer knows her brother. She knows how much he hates confrontation and so she asked to come on a ride-along. He then tried to use the ride-along to get him to talk to her. Jennifer mentioned to Officer Chen that she’s sell their dad’s house while she’s in the city and that she was hoping to fix it up before she sells it.

Bradford made fun of his sister for watching too much of HGTV. He told her to just sell the place and get on with it. His sister on the other hand thinks they can get a nice investment from it. She and Chen both HGTV because the network mostly highlights houses that needs renovation. So, Jennifer thinks she could upgrade the house and thereby increase the overall selling price, but her brother didn’t want to get into it. He wanted it to be quick and easy. He also didn’t want to be talking about their dad who seems to be struggling and so Bradford wanted to focus on the job. The thing with Lopez and Nolan escalated. The two of them went to the Marvin Reynolds’s house where they tried to question him about the alleged assault. And he started shouting at them.

Reynolds started shouting how he’s a sovereign citizen. He said that United States law hold no power of him and then he got aggressive. He tried to run. They chased and lost him, but they did search his home and they found several weapons and so they did a little digging into Reynolds. Reynolds has been threatening a terrorist attack for a while now. The police later roped in everyone for the manhunt and they confiscated Reynolds’s supply of guns. Reynolds was out there. He was angry. He also wanted to lash out at the government he swears is being run by corporations. Lopez and Nolan later spoke with his ex-girlfriend. She mentioned that Reynolds was once sane. Then he met this guy Cooper online and Cooper sold him the sovereign life.

Lopez and Nolan got Cooper’s address. They met at the garden where he works and they asked him about Reynolds. The man tried to deny ever hearing that name. It wasn’t until they said they connected him to the sovereign kits he sold Reynolds and that he could be named as accessory after the fact to anything Reynolds does that Cooper got scared. He tried to run. Lopez tackled him. She got out some of her frustrations and Nolan realized she did it for that reason. He waited until it was just the two of them when he said she couldn’t do that again. They were the police. They had to uphold the law and so Lopez apologized. And the manhunt for Reynolds went into overdrive because they learned from Cooper that he wanted Cooper’s guns.

Reynolds’s imminent terrorist plans were push forward by his almost capture. He’s trying to take out as many lives as possible and so the whole city is looking for him. Bradford and Chen were still riding with his sister when she mentioned their dad again. Their dad is dying. Jennifer thinks it will be a good idea to see him and Bradford said never. His father was an abusive drunk. He used to hit Bradford and even broke a wall by shoving Bradford’s head through it. Bradford hates his father. He doesn’t have any fond memories on the house and he couldn’t wait until it was sold. The manhunt in the meantime had taken a turn. Reynolds’s car was found. It was found nearby to the Navy ship museum where he used to work. The police all went there and they cleared the place room by room until they found Reynolds.

He tried to shoot at one of them. They returned fire and they killed Reynolds. Case closed. Bradford also realizes he needs to be there for his sister and so he offered to help her sell the house. He even got Nolan to help with renovations. And so Bradford endorsed Nolan for the next union rep.

Lopez’s husband also went to Sergeant Gray and he offered to become an informant.

The End!
