The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) may blame Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) for fueling Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) baby obsession. Will Abby warn Amanda to back off for Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) sake?
Y&R fans know Devon’s been trying to put on a brave face and carry on when it comes to missing Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor. To be honest, that’s the right decision to make.
Devon volunteered as a sperm donor with the understanding that he wouldn’t be raising this child. It’s more important than ever for Devon to take a step back and let Chance have a turn at bonding with his son.
However, Amanda has gotten downright pushy when it comes to Devon and the baby issue. She’s repeatedly pressured Devon to ask for one-on-one time with Dominic despite his concerns.
Devon gets that Chance is already struggling to connect with Dominic, so why would he want to make things more difficult? It feels like Amanda is putting Devon’s needs above all else right now.
That’s not fair to Chance and Abby’s family – the family that Devon signed up to help create.
Devon knew what he was getting himself into and should accept the consequences. If that means missing Dominic, then so be it. Devon goes over to the Chancellor mansion constantly, so these visits offer plenty of bonding opportunities.
Amanda doesn’t seem to agree, but it feels like a mistake to keep fueling Devon’s Dominic obsession like this.
Abby may eventually take notice, especially after Devon decides Amanda’s right and winds up requesting alone time with his godson.
Although Abby might grant Devon’s request, she could develop some worries later.
Chance may become even more distant with the baby and admit to Abby that he feels inadequate as a father compared to Devon. All it’s going to take is a confession from Chance to change Abby’s perspective.
Abby may ultimately decide it’s time to start setting some firmer boundaries. She might start by confronting Amanda if Devon comes clean about Amanda giving him the nudge to ask for this one-one-one time.
Everyone is getting along a little too well in this storyline, so it could use a jolt of drama. There’s a chance for a new rivalry since Amanda has this weird desire to make Devon more fixated on his biological child. Someone needs to call that out – and that someone could be Abby!
At some point, Abby may wonder what Amanda thinks she’s doing and accuse her of making the situation more complicated.
It’d be great to see Abby and Amanda become sparring partners since this story could use some showdowns along with some new energy.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Amanda is becoming a big problem, so perhaps it’s only a matter of time before Abby realizes she’s the source of trouble.
