The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) plans will be derailed. Ever since all the baby talk started up between Abby and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz), this couple has seemed doomed in the fertility department.
The more Chance tried to reassure Abby that everything was fine, the clearer it became that there’d be a problem.
Abby will cling to hope that maybe Chance is right about it just taking some time. All Abby wants is to get pregnant and begin a sweet family with the man she loves.
Unfortunately, Abby’s gynecologist appointment will offer heartbreaking news instead. The Young and the Restless spoilers confirm that Abby won’t be able to carry a baby – and she’ll get updates on that soon enough.
Of course, Abby will be devastated after her dreams are dashed. It seems likely that Abby will need a chance to process everything alone and let it sink in. Abby may dread telling Chance the truth since she knows how much he wants to be a father.
Chance fully expects Abby to get pregnant with his child plus a couple more down the road.
Even if Abby tries to keep Chance out of the loop for a while, she’ll just be delaying the inevitable. Y&R spoilers say Abby will eventually have to fill Chance in on what she’s learned and let him know plans have changed.
Naturally, this doesn’t have to be the end of Abby and Chance’s desire for a family. Chance will surely remind Abby of that once he knows what’s going on. They could use a surrogate or adopt, so Chance and Abby could certainly still have a cute little fam together.
They’ll just have to open their minds and start thinking about different steps to achieve it.
However, Abby may struggle to see beyond her disappointment for a while. She may feel like she’s letting Chance down, though he definitely won’t see it that way.
