The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) wedding may be back on after Chelsea’s psychiatric hospital stay.
Right now, Chelsea feels forced into this outcome. She was backed into a corner by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and isn’t happy about having to fake a mental health recovery at this facility.
However, the truth is Chelsea needs genuine help. Poisoning innocent Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) to get revenge on Adam and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) isn’t normal behavior.
Chelsea probably deserved criminal charges and jail time, but maybe Chelsea really did experience some brain trauma that led her to this low point.
Adam has disappointed Chelsea before, but she’s never been driven quite this far over the edge. Although Chelsea may not truly be suffering from post-stroke psychosis, something isn’t right with her.
Chelsea’s not herself and needs a better path forward, so this psychiatric hospital stay may be exactly what she needs.
Chelsea expects to slowly pretend to regain her grip on reality, but she may soon discover that therapy will help her let go of her anger. Since Adam blames himself for Chelsea’s struggles in some ways, forgiveness is certainly possible.
In the Wednesday, May 12 episode of Y&R, Adam looks at Chelsea’s picture on his phone – perhaps even wondering what might’ve been. It could be a hint that Adam and Chelsea are still endgame.
Although Adam will always be drawn to Sharon, Chelsea is the mother of Adam’s child and someone he once shared a deep connection with, too. Maybe there’s hope for Adam and Chelsea to be a family with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) again eventually.
Many “Chadam” fans felt cheated out of a wedding since Chelsea and Adam got engaged without ever tying the knot again. Could Adam and Chelsea’s wedding plans ultimately resume?
Anything is possible now that Adam is turning his life around and Chelsea’s in the position to get actual help.
