The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) may finally call out Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) obsession. Devon’s real relationship is being neglected for his “baby mama,” so that’s something Amanda will have to address sooner or later.
Of course, Amanda has been quite understanding about the whole situation so far. After Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor was born, Amanda encouraged Devon to open up about his connection to his biological son.
Amanda’s always been supportive of Devon spending time with Dominic and building a special bond as his godfather.
Amanda has also been understanding about Devon’s need to be there for Abby, especially now that Chance Chancellor (soon-to-be Connor Floyd) is presumed dead. However, things are on the verge of shifting for a couple of crucial reasons.
It’s clear that Devon is becoming more and more fixated on this idea of being there for Abby and the baby.
In some ways, it’s a lot like the situation Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) has been dealing with.
Mariah feels like she’s the only one who can properly take care of Dominic despite Abby’s massive support system.
Likewise, Devon may feel he’s the only one who can properly step up for Abby and Dominic now that Chance is truly gone.
Regardless, Devon’s entire life revolves around Abby and Dominic now. If Devon isn’t supporting Abby at the Chancellor mansion, he’s strolling with Dominic in the park.
Even when Devon is elsewhere, his mind is still on Dominic and Abby.
Devon recently came home to a chaotic confrontation at the penthouse between Amanda and Sutton Ames (Jack Landron), but he was right back to talking about Abby and Dominic once they threw Sutton out.
No matter what happens, it always comes back to Dominic and Abby for Devon. They’re the most important thing in Devon’s life right now.
Amanda certainly has compassion and can be patient with Devon on this, but he’s bound to go overboard at some point.
Devon has already had to bail on several important moments as Amanda prepares to take the stand at Sutton’s trial.
Although Amanda is hoping Devon will be there to support her when she testifies, there’s a good chance he’ll bail on that, too. Y&R is establishing a pattern of Devon putting Abby and Dominic first.
Abby will also plan to travel to Spain and follow the trail Chance left behind, so there could be more trouble if Devon offers to go with her or in her place. Amanda may wonder just how invested Devon is going to get.
The week of November 8-12 will bring a tricky dilemma for Amanda, who won’t want to step out of bounds. It sounds like Amanda will contemplate gently calling out Devon’s Abby and Dominic attachment.
Amanda may feel like Devon is slipping away – and that appears to be true based on his behavior lately.
This is a tough ordeal all around, but Amanda does seem poised to voice her concerns in the coming episodes and could perhaps spark a fight.
Since Devon is so protective of Abby and Dominic, he may get defensive and act like Amanda’s going back on her earlier claims of support.
