The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) recently dropped a major bomb on Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) regarding her grandfather, Sutton Ames, and the accusations he’s facing.
Now that Amanda has explained a bit more about the case, it seems obvious that Sutton isn’t really the guilty party.
In a shocking twist, Amanda revealed that her father, Richard Nealon, worked for Newman Enterprises all those years ago. Richard was killed before he could expose some corruption, so Amanda considered the possibility that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was behind Richard’s death.
However, Devon didn’t think Victor would cross that murderous line, especially over something like a real estate deal. Of course, we have to agree with Devon here. That’d be going way too far and wouldn’t line up with the image Y&R’s been crafting for Victor over the last few years.
Victor is tough, but the show doesn’t make him overly ruthless. They still want Victor to be a hero in a way, so there’s no chance they’ll reveal that he’s guilty of killing Amanda’s father.
It has to be someone else – someone who would indeed be ruthless enough to kill over a real estate deal or anything else.
Is it possible that Y&R fans have already met the man who actually ordered the murder of Amanda’s father? We’d say look no further than Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi)!
For starters, the timing fits since this new storyline about Amanda’s dad is kicking off not too long after Ashland’s debut on the canvas.
Plus, The Young and the Restless writers have fought hard to make sure we understand just how ruthless Ashland is.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) talked about how Ashland executed a hostile takeover that led to the destruction of a business owner’s marriage and reputation – all over a perceived snub at a meeting.
Ashland also gutted his first partner since he believed that partner had cheated him. Jack told Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) all about how Ashland had left the man penniless and had gone after the guy’s brother as well as his business associates.
There’s a reason why viewers have repeatedly been given examples of Ashland’s cruelty. We have no problem believing that Ashland would order the car crash that killed Amanda’s bio dad. Ashland certainly wouldn’t lose any sleep over it!
When Kyle first told Summer about Ashland, he explained that Ashland had done business with his own grandfather and probably Summer’s, too. However, Ashland later told Summer that he knew Victor by reputation only.
Kyle’s first instinct about Ashland being caught up in Victor’s world might’ve been the right one. Perhaps there’s an old connection here that even Victor doesn’t realize.
Amanda considered the possibility that Victor was in the dark on some things at Newman Enterprises back then. Perhaps Ashland was even secretly working with someone who worked under Victor.
Once Amanda inevitably goes to Victor and digs for answers, maybe Victor could dig into this as well and become part of Ashland’s exposure.
Whatever the case, The Young and the Restless spoilers say the depth of Ashland’s cruelty could be far worse than fans imagine! All roads seem to lead to Ashland now that he’s involved in Kyle’s story and this Cyaxares drama.
It seems likely Ashland will fit in Amanda’s story as well as the man behind her father’s death.
