The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) may collapse while Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) waits for her groom. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) is poised to make a horrifying pre-wedding discovery, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
For starters, we have to remember that Ashland is a dying man. There was once a time when it seemed like the writers might reveal Ashland was faking his terminal illness.
That could still happen, but it almost feels like they want to play up Ashland’s softer, more genuine side now.
With that in mind, Ashland’s lung cancer may be legit. We’ve seen some health setbacks for Ashland along the way, but more seem to be brewing.
Ashland wasn’t sure he’d even be up for this trip at one point, but now he’s determined to keep the wedding on track in Tuscany.
There’s a moment in Y&R’s October 8 episode where Ashland is unsteady on his feet and admits to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) that he’s not feeling all that great. That could be a setup for another collapse ahead of the nuptials.
During the week of October 11-15, Victoria will stick to the plan and focus on moving forward with the wedding.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will get ready to walk his daughter down the aisle, but Nikki will discover something that startles her before he has the chance.
If Ashland is missing just before the wedding’s set to begin, Nikki may go looking for him as matron of honor. She might assure Victoria that she’ll find the groom so they can get this show on the road.
There was talk about how it’d be good to have Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) around as a doctor, so his skills may indeed be needed.
Nikki might find an unconscious Ashland and frantically call Nate to come help him.
Then again, Nate is the best man and might spot distressed Ashland first.
Perhaps Nikki could find Nate tending to Ashland in his time of crisis, which would still be a pretty shocking discovery!
Whatever the case, we know Nikki will indeed make some sort of stunning find before the wedding actually happens.
It looks like Ashland will still make it to the ceremony eventually, but it may be a struggle due to his health’s decline.
