The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) may have celebrated their victory prematurely. Y&R fans know Victor and Adam were on cloud nine at the penthouse recently.
Adam popped open a bottle of bubbly after Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) chose Victor and Adam as the winners of the Cyaxares battle.
Ashland couldn’t stay for Champagne since he wanted to get back to New York and see Harrison Locke, but he assured Adam and Victor that he’d have the contracts sent over.
Of course, that line was interesting because it tells us the contracts haven’t been signed yet. Nothing is set in stone here – and that means the deal could soon be in jeopardy!
Adam was feeling large and in charge after this “massive win,” which he toasted to with Victor by his side. Victor and Adam expect to do big things with the company, but they may not get the chance.
Y&R viewers will recall that Ashland had some concerns about Adam’s track record during the pitch meeting.
Ashland wasn’t shy about bringing up Adam’s problematic history – and it’ll soon look like history is repeating itself. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will face some serious accusations after Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) bloodwork reveals he was poisoned.
Rey will nearly die thanks to the thallium that was planted in his various products in his bathroom. Once Rey finally wakes up and gets updates, he’ll think Adam is the one and only suspect.
Rey will shut down any other theories and focus on taking Adam down for trying to kill him!
Adam isn’t guilty this time around, but that’s not going to matter when there’s a mountain of evidence against him. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will make sure of that! It looks like Chelsea’s the true culprit and most likely got a secret accomplice to plant this thallium for her.
Even so, Adam will be accused and could potentially get arrested since Rey will be so fixated on locking him on. You can bet that Adam’s name will end up in the news for poisoning and nearly murdering a GCPD detective.
The fact that Adam will look like a stalker obsessed with his ex will make matters even worse.
None of this should go over well with Ashland, who was trusting that Cyaxares would be in good hands. How can Ashland possibly go through with the deal considering the timing of Adam’s looming attempted murder accusations?
It would be a horrible business decision, so Ashland may insist that the deal’s off! Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) seem like the most likely contenders to be Ashland’s second choice.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is still an option, but it makes more sense from a writing standpoint to give Cyaxares to vengeful Billy and give him some power over Adam.
That’s especially true since Billy is an Abbott and could tie in with the Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) drama later. Bottom line, Ashland could easily pull the plug on this deal. There could be a huge upset that leaves Adam and Victor the losers of this Cyaxares battle after all.
