The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) abusive side could bring danger as well as a horrifying reminder of Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) past with J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill). Y&R fans know Victoria endured horrible abuse at the hands of JT, who became both emotionally manipulative and physically violent.
The show ultimately revealed that J.T. was suffering from a brain tumor as an explanation for his outrageous behavior, but that doesn’t change the fact that Victoria was abused in more ways than one.
It was a brutal experience for Victoria that caused her to struggle for quite some time.
There were some deep psychological wounds that Victoria had to heal from, but she could be setting herself up for even more. After all, we’ve heard a lot about the psychological wars that Ashland wages.
We’ve seen that Ashland likes to play mind games and can be awfully menacing when he wants to be.
Tara has talked a lot about the two sides of Ashland – the loving father she’s seen him be to Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) and the raging monster he turns into when he’s angry.
So far, Victoria’s only seen the more docile version of Ashland. Things are going well between them, but that may not be the case forever.
In the Tuesday, June 9 episode, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) warns that Victoria’s swimming in treacherous waters. Billy clearly doesn’t trust Ashland – and for good reason!
Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) may not be a saint, but Ashland is obviously no angel either.
Considering Victoria’s past with J.T., it’s especially dangerous for her to get involved with a man who’s known for being so ruthless and vindictive.
Victoria seems poised to see a more sinister side of Ashland, but she may be in too deep to just walk away by then.
Ashland is a vengeful man who could make Victoria pay the price for rejecting him down the road.
Bottom line, Ashland can’t be trusted and appears to be lulling Victoria into a false sense of security.
Victoria sees this softer side of Ashland and thinks she understands him, but she may see his true abusive colors sooner or later. We’ll fill you in as other Y&R news and updates emerge.
