The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) Peru clinic evaluation results will be revealed, so Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) will face the facts ahead of her husband’s death.
Y&R fans know Ashland’s lung cancer diagnosis is terminal, so this story is about how much time Ashland has left – not whether he lives or dies.
It seemed like Ashland might be faking his condition for a while, but the show eventually dropped the shady aspects and went all in on an illness story.
We’ve seen Ashland struggling with symptoms in private plenty of times by now, and those symptoms are clearly getting worse.
Of course, Victoria went into this marriage with her eyes wide open. At least she thought she did!
It’s true that Victoria knew Ashland was dying when she made him her husband, but it does seem like reality is hitting her harder than she anticipated.
Victoria loves Ashland with all her heart and has found something special with him. She doesn’t want to lose this deep bond so soon into this marriage, so she’s hoping Ashland can beat the odds.
That’s what this Peru clinic is all about, but Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) wasn’t too optimistic about it being anything more than a long shot.
Will Ashland qualify for the experimental trial? If so, will it indeed manage to extend his life?
Ashland recently took a trip to Peru with Victoria, who insisted on being by his side to help process everything he learned. During the week of November 22-26, Ashland and Victoria will work on figuring out their next move.
That could mean Ashland will officially score a spot in the trial and have a chance at extending his time with Victoria.
Ashland and Victoria might discuss the grueling treatment ahead.
However, it could also mean Ashland won’t qualify and will fear he’s out of options.
Victoria and Ashland could eventually shift their focus to enjoying the time they have left together, especially if they start tackling some bucket list goals.
Naturally, there’s also a chance this upcoming move relates to the Newman-Locke merger or Ashland’s lawsuit against ChancComm, but he’s still going to face his Peru clinic evaluation results soon.
Once that happens, Ashland and Victoria will have a better sense of how many months they might have left together.
There’ll either be more hope as we build toward the holidays or less depending on Ashland’s evaluation appointment outcome. Regardless, Victoria will be desperate for every minute she can get with Ashland.
