The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) may face a real downward spiral, so this dangerous game could end in a heartbreaking intervention. Billy wasn’t pleased about the trap the Newmans set for him, so he’s decided to set one of his own. However, Billy’s taking a big risk with this plan considering his history.
Billy is pretending to booze it up and acting like he’s on the verge of another gambling problem. He’s also having public outbursts and picking fights, so he’s making it look like he’s going off the rails.
Lily wants to support and trust Billy, but she obviously has some concerns deep down. Those concerns are only going to grow stronger as this storyline moves along.
Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) warned Lily that those closest to Billy can sometimes get swept up in his self-confidence. It’s easy to believe Billy’s got everything under control until it’s too late and everything’s falling apart!
Y&R keeps dropping ominous hints like Billy could perhaps truly fall back into old habits. The Young and the Restless spoilers for the week of December 20-24 indeed say Billy will revert to the negative behavior of the past.
That’ll probably be part of Billy’s plan for now, but Lily admitted she was worried Billy might get caught up in the façade. There’s the potential for lines to blur since Billy’s getting such a thrill out of pretending he’s a wild bad boy again.
Billy and Lily will likely pretend to have a full-blown breakup at some point, so that could lead to Billy moving out to make it look legit. What happens once Billy’s riding the high of this scheme in a hotel without Lily to keep him on track?
Billy could start drinking excessively and gambling for real if he lets his plan get that far. It just feels like Billy is a little too committed to his current plan, which means it could end in disaster.
We won’t be surprised at all if Billy’s intervention follows a genuine downward spiral!
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy will continue to believe he’s got a tight grip on the situation, but he may not be as in control as he thinks he is.
