The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) may force a custody battle with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) by demanding Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) permanent Minnesota move. Fans know Adam recently brought up that concern to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), so it’s something we should pay attention to.
Adam was uneasy about the possibility that Chelsea might get used to having Connor out of state and far away from Genoa City. He fears this could be a situation where he gives Chelsea an inch and she takes a mile!
Adam wanted to let Chelsea and Connor bond again since their son had been away at boarding school for so long. He was trying to do what was best for Connor and perhaps Chelsea, too.
Connor is no doubt enjoying this opportunity to reconnect with Chelsea as well as his grandma, Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach).
However, Adam intends for this arrangement to be temporary. He mentioned visiting on weekends until Anita’s recovered and certainly intends to keep playing an important role in his son’s life.
Adam wants Connor to return to Genoa City down the road and was adamant in his conversation with Sharon about being the custodial parent.
We also know Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) doesn’t trust Chelsea and has been worried that Adam’s kindness toward her might come back to bite him.
Since the show’s offering so many clues about custody drama and Chelsea being untrustworthy, we have to consider the possibility that Victor and now Adam’s worst fears will come true.
Chelsea could indeed push for Connor to stay in Minnesota for good and kick off a major custody battle.
It’s true that Chelsea has some serious issues and just got out of a psychiatric facility, but Adam’s had a stay of his own there!
It’s not like Adam has a squeaky-clean past, so a decent lawyer could make a strong case for Chelsea to be the custodial parent instead.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Melissa Claire Egan will return from her maternity leave for an exciting storyline this fall.
