The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) may need a new plan as the walls close in. Y&R fans know Chelsea had plenty of time to map out exactly how she was going to frame Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) for poisoning Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso).
Chelsea’s goal was to make Adam seem obsessed with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and get Adam out of her life once and for all. Of course, Chelsea still wants a fresh start with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) as soon as she can lock that in.
Although Chelsea was brimming with confidence early on, she really needs to be nervous about her plan falling apart!
Sharon threw Chelsea a curveball when she decided to support and help Adam while he was on the run. Chelsea felt like she had to divert suspicion following Sharon’s visit and apparent trap.
However, Chelsea’s sudden recovery breakthrough is raising suspicions – and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has warned that she’ll pay for Adam’s setup. Since
Victor tends to be a man who keeps his vengeful promises, Chelsea needs to be prepared for brutal backlash! Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) got fed up with all this, so Chelsea is on her own.
Even Rey is starting to come around on the idea that maybe Sharon’s right about Chelsea faking her stalled recovery – that she’s making this miraculous progress as part of her strategy.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Rey will put Chelsea to the test during the week of April 19-23. Rey will see it as a win-win situation since he’ll want Chelsea to help him set a trap for Adam.
Rey will want to use Connor as bait, though he’ll no doubt point out the kid won’t be in any real danger. The way Rey will see it, if Adam is guilty and Chelsea helps take him down – then problem solved.
If Chelsea is guilty and trips herself up with the Adam trap, then that’ll work for Rey, too. Rey will just want to solve the case, so working with Chelsea on this trap will pan out either way.
The Young and the Restless viewers know Chelsea is indeed guilty of setting up Adam, but what happens if Rey uncovers proof?
After all the hard work Chelsea has put into this scheme, she’s not going down without a fight. There’s no chance of Chelsea just handing herself over to the cops, so she’ll do whatever it takes to avoid arrest.
Based on Chelsea’s history of scheming, she’s proven that she bolts when her plans crash and burn. It seems likely that once Chelsea realizes her plot failed, she’ll try to grab Connor and run.
Rey’s trap may make that easier to do if Connor is actually used, but it could also be a plan similar to the one Chloe suggested – one that involves using Connor in name only.
If Connor’s not truly part of the equation, Chelsea may want to dash off to Connor’s boarding school to make the snatch. Naturally, this presents the possibility of another trap that Rey sets for Chelsea!
Regardless, Chelsea will likely decide her best chance at remaining a free woman with her son is to just grab Connor and run.
Chelsea won’t want to land in prison and leave Adam to raise Connor alone, so she should form a frantic backup plan once she’s backed into a corner.
