The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) may play matchmaker for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) as a way to drive the competition away from Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). The puzzle pieces all add up to a great storyline and a new romantic direction for Sally, so let’s consider some crucial clues.
For starters, Noah needs a real love interest instead of all the pining he’s doing.
Noah’s stuck on past loves like Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and the woman he fell for in London, but he’ll try to work through his heartbreak in the coming weeks.
It seems like Y&R’s almost ready to set the stage for a new love story.
Meanwhile, we’ve got Chelsea, who still wants to reunite with Adam and clearly doesn’t like Sally cozying up to him.
Chelsea is still a schemer, but she knows she can’t go to extremes like poisoning people and framing anyone for attempted murder anymore.
Chelsea would be better off taking a page out of Sally’s playbook and going for a plot with a more positive outcome – like when Sally schemed to get Summer Newman-Abbott (Hunter King) her dream job in Italy.
Maybe Chelsea could decide the solution is to play Cupid for Sally and Noah.
Struggling Noah would get a new girlfriend, Sally would stop sniffing around Adam and Chelsea would be free to win Adam over without a feisty redhead to distract him.
In Chelsea’s mind, that’d be an “everybody wins” scenario – though Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) would be wary of her bestie heading down a manipulative path again.
Chloe might warn Chelsea to focus on work and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) instead of trying to push Sally away from Adam.
Nevertheless, there’s surely a reason why Chelsea’s had more interactions with Noah than usual lately.
Of course, Noah was also rather rude to Sally at The Grand Phoenix when she was trying to befriend Tessa – leading Tessa to suggest that Sally was lonely and should perhaps be cut some slack.
It’s easy to imagine Chelsea insisting that Noah, who recently decided he was on board for more work at Newman Media, should work with Sally on a new project.
Sally herself suggested the idea, so Chelsea might heavily encourage it and cause a thaw in Noah’s somewhat cold demeanor toward Sally.
It’d be worth a shot since Chelsea wants Adam all to herself! As other Y&R news and updates emerge, we’ll keep you posted.
