The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chelsea's Dangerous Break From Reality – Rey Closes In On Villain, Clears Adam

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) broke from reality during the period when she was paralyzed and rendered mute. During that time span she developed exaggerated ideas about Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), and how the Shadam problem needed to be solved.

Chelsea’s choice to poison Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) was not something she would have done in recent years. The old Chelsea, who conned Billy Abbott (Billy Miller) during Egan’s debut in 2011, would have schemed in this manner.

But Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) mother wouldn’t have, which Adam recognizes as a glaring red light in this storyline.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – The Old Con Inside Chelsea

The worst part of Chelsea is on display. She convinced herself that Rey represented a collateral damage target. So, she used Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to poison him as part of a plan to frame Adam for attempted murder.

Chelsea believed that Rey wouldn’t die, though she had no way of knowing that. She also believes that this strategy is the best way to protect herself and Connor from Adam, which is arguable hypocrisy.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Is Resilient

Adam holds a unique wild card at the moment. He and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) have not only resolved their differences, the Moustache believes in his son’s innocence and is right to do so.

Victor stops at nothing to antagonize his loved ones into being so-called, better versions of themselves. But he can also go to any length to help them when they are living in desperation.

So, Chelsea isn’t just trying to one-up Adam, she’s attempting to best one of the proudest papa bears of all-time. Victor’s reign as the lead anti-hero on this soap implies that Chelsea will eventually lose.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Rey Rosales Proves Enemy’s Innocence?

This tale feels as though it’s moving toward Rey pressing hard to get Adam, while eventually proving his innocence. The key will be whether Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) top detective on the Genoa City Police Department’s force can prove Chelsea’s guilt.

As Y&R fans recall, Adam told Victor that Chelsea suffered enough. That means Adam doesn’t want to seek revenge against her.

With Egan’s anticipated maternity leave coming this summer, it could also indicate that a limited legal slap will happen or Chelsea will lay low for awhile. But that story is yet to be told.
