The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) may push for alone time with Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor and could ruin Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) attempt to bond with his son. Devon seems poised to take a tough situation and make it even worse due to his own daddy desires.
Chance is still trying to adjust to being back home after a traumatic mission, so everyone really needs to be patient and give the guy some breathing room. It’s not fair to expect Chance to just bounce back and suddenly be fine after everything he’s been through.
Of course, it’s understandable that Devon would be concerned about Chance after the way he opened up, but it’s also completely understandable that Chance is feeling like this.
It would honestly be weird if Chance didn’t have issues following a deep undercover assignment that lasted many months and killed all his colleagues.
Devon thinks the best thing he can do for both Chance and Dominic is to spend as much time with the baby as he can, but maybe that’s just what Devon wants – not what’s best for Dominic and certainly not what’s best for Chance.
What Chance needs is an opportunity to truly bond with Dominic as his son.
However, Y&R spoilers say Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will sense that Devon’s quick visits with Dominic aren’t cutting it for him.
On December 20, Amanda will drop a hint about asking for some one-on-one time – and Devon just might run with that idea despite some fears about overstepping.
Devon may ultimately decide it’ll be good for Dominic and convince himself that it’ll help Chance out as well.
In reality, this is about Devon’s own attachment to Dominic and his struggle to let go of the dream of being his dad.
Unfortunately, Chance isn’t in a good headspace right now, so he won’t react well when he witnesses a special moment between Devon and Dominic during the week of December 20-24.
It’ll leave Chance feeling like an inadequate outsider, but maybe he’d be doing better if everyone would stop putting so much pressure on him.
It seems like Devon should back off a bit and let Chance have the proper bonding time with the son he just came home to.
Devon knew what he was signing up for when he volunteered to donate sperm, so he should accept the consequences of that decision and understand this isn’t his child to raise.
Instead, Devon will keep hovering around Dominic and will leave Chance feeling like a failure as a father!
