The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that there’s a key player in Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) storyline who’s still somewhat unaccounted for. Let’s think about the cluster of characters we’re dealing with for a moment.
We’ve got Amanda at the center of it all, but she’s also met her birth mother, Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey). Amanda has a half-sister named Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) – and Y&R fans have had a chance to see her interact with Amanda, too.
Now Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) has entered the picture, so we’re seeing Amanda’s powerful grandfather and learning more about him. Of course, we also know Richard Nealon is Amanda’s deceased bio dad. Amanda tearfully gazed at a photo of him before his death, so we’ve seen Richard as well.
There’s only one crucial family member who hasn’t popped up yet – and that’s Amanda’s stepfather. Where is Mr. Benedict and why aren’t we learning more about him? Is there a reason why Y&R isn’t divulging much of anything about Amanda’s stepdad?
Amanda agreed to take Sutton’s case and try to prove he’s not responsible for ordering the deadly crash. She wants to get to the bottom of who actually killed Richard if a murder indeed took place.
It wouldn’t be a very gripping story if this turned out to be a simple accident, so it’s safe to say someone indeed wanted Richard dead.
However, there’s no guarantee that Richard was killed because of the Newman Enterprises corruption he was threatening to expose. The timing may have been a coincidence.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Amanda’s digging will lead to a deep, complex mystery unraveling, so there may be more going on than meets the eye.
What if Amanda’s stepfather was behind her bio dad’s murder? For starters, the guy’s last name is Benedict. That’s an unusual name that immediately brings to mind Benedict Arnold, one of the most infamous traitors in U.S. history.
It could be a hint from the writers that this mysterious Mr. Benedict is shady and behind a betrayal.
It’s possible Mr. Benedict was obsessed with Naya and wanted to be sure Richard wouldn’t pose any kind of romantic competition. Naya may have no idea that her husband resorted to such drastic action to be with her.
Although Naya claimed things were never headed toward happily ever after with Richard, Mr. Benedict might’ve thought otherwise. Perhaps Mr. Benedict had his eye on Naya for quite some time. It might’ve been a stalker-ish situation that got out of hand unbeknownst to Naya.
Just imagine if Amanda uncovered a shocker like that! This could blow up the family like never before and open the door for Naya to move on with a new man in Genoa City.
It’d be wise to have Naya divorce her husband and watch him get shipped off to prison. That could pave the way for a fresh romance and some exciting new storylines.
