The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) has been married six times since divorcing Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Currently, she is with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). But as viewers know, that marriage is shaky and has been for many months.
Niktor will always be Y&R’s greatest pairing. But Shick is arguably the second-greatest married couple in this soap’s storied history, with full consideration given to differing opinions because there have been so many important duos.
Sharon’s first love and husband was Nick. They married in the mid-1990s and split in 2006. So, it is fair to ask if there is enough existing fan support for a reunion?
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Yes, The Audience Does Matter
The television audience for all daytime drama is different than it was a quarter-century ago. Go back to Y&R’s inception in 1973. Soap operas ruled every afternoon on all major broadcast networks.
Viewers understand that it is not the 1970s, 1990s, or even the 2010s anymore. Change is a constant in daytime drama. But the most devoted soap audience watches Y&R in North America, which allows it to remain the number one form of scripted daytime drama.
Audience numbers determine advertising dollars. But it has been, is, and will remain fully subjective to speculate how audience opinions impact storyline development and changes within them.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Shick Once Worked Well
This specific creative process and the emotions soaps stoke will always create varied reactions. The fans were interested in Sharon and Nick’s young love story, marriage, struggles, Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) discovery and inclusion into their family, and Shick’s harsh marital strife.
But the cliched back in the day topics that once engaged Y&R’s audience now represents dialogue references and occasional video retrospectives.
Sharon and Nick tried to remarry on two occasions. Neither attempt resulted in a completed nuptial event. The developed hopes of Shick fans were dashed and a sobering conclusion sunk it. TPTB may never revive this one-time mega couple through to re-marriage.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Noah Newman Raises The Issue
Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) has returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin. Gibson took over the role that Robert Adamson (Noah) long played. Both connected points, along with Nick and Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) breakup, could imply that a Shick revival is realistic, whether it happens or not.
Y&R fans took note when Noah questioned whether Nick ever got over Sharon. Her reaction was one of surprise.
Sharon is with Rey. Of course, a Shey split would open the other door, leaving Sharon and Nick single. But do longtime and newer fans believe this projected possibility will happen, and if so, should it?
