The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has a secret accomplice, so we should ponder the mystery and try to nail down who that might be.
Y&R viewers know Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) has been assisting Chelsea, but there’s another key player here – one that even Chloe doesn’t yet know about.
Chelsea had a bag of stuff that puzzled Chloe during a recent trip to the penthouse. Who got that bag of items for Chelsea since it obviously wasn’t Chloe? There’s another clue to ponder since Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) has suddenly become quite ill and doesn’t know the true cause.
This seems like a drugging or poisoning plot, but Chelsea couldn’t do the deed herself while stuck at home.
Since Chloe didn’t poison Rey either, that brings another incident that a mysterious accomplice would have to pitch in on. Who is Chelsea working with?
It’s possible Chelsea has simply hired some help – much like Adam did when he had goons who helped out with Chelsea’s kidnapping and time in captivity.
Chelsea was drugged during that crisis, which was a rough experience – but she was fine in the end. It’s not like it was a life-threatening substance, so Chelsea may be going for a similar plan here.
It’s tough to believe Chelsea would allow Rey to be given anything that’d do serious long-term damage or kill him.
So what if Rey’s sick for a little while? If Chelsea’s plan works, it’ll mean destroying Adam and Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) bond. Chelsea would surely think that’d make this brief illness worth it to Rey.
Could that make this worth it to someone like Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind), too? If Chelsea’s accomplice is a character we know and not just some hired day player, Faith would be an intriguing option.
There’s no denying that Faith had access to the stolen knick-knacks at the cottage and the ability to drug Rey’s beverage or something along those lines. We also know Faith’s been angry with Adam for months and would much rather see him stay away from Sharon for good.
There have also been trust issues when it comes to Faith – and Sharon’s even worried about the possibility that Faith could be bipolar like her.
Faith isn’t an innocent, carefree kid anymore; she’s a struggling teen who’s been through a lot and might’ve been driven to her breaking point.
That’s especially true if Chelsea reached out and pressured Faith to join this scheme. Maybe Chelsea convinced Faith that they had to do whatever it took to get Adam away from Sharon and locked up where he belongs.
Faith would no doubt have serious reservations about drugging Rey, but again – this isn’t some fatal substance. Chelsea could’ve insisted Rey would be perfectly all right in the end.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea is desperate to make this takedown happen, so we could buy her roping Faith into this. Chelsea can be pretty convincing as a con artist!
Since Faith’s life has been total turmoil for what feels like forever, she just wants to go back to some version of normalcy. There’s nothing Faith would want more than Sharon and Rey happily married with Adam out of the picture.
Chelsea could’ve sold Faith on the plot by arguing this would finally turn Sharon against Adam permanently.
Since Chelsea’s goal is apparently to frame Adam for poisoning Rey, that’s a goal that would work out for Faith, too. Every time Faith sees Adam, she just wants him gone!
If Faith could help put Adam in prison and get rid of this hold Adam has on Sharon, those would be pros in Faith’s book.
It might be extreme and risky for Chelsea to team up with a teenager, but Faith is the one person who has easy access and could be manipulated into helping.
With Faith’s help, Chelsea may hope she can make it look like Adam stole the knick-knacks and plotted to poison Sharon’s husband like an obsessed stalker.
Sharon will indeed hurl accusations Adam’s way down the road, so it seems Chelsea’s plan will pay off. It’s just a matter of whether Faith is involved or not, but she certainly could be!
