The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, April 9 Recap – Jack Puts Sally Affair On Hold – Chelsea Speaks To Nick

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, April 9, teases that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will rant to Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) about Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) visit.

Chelsea will realize Sharon must’ve been coached by Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) on how to set a trap. She’ll think they should set one of their own in response.

Part of Chelsea will just want to call the cops up and tell them Sharon confessed to harboring a fugitive, but a sudden miraculous recovery would be too suspicious. Chelsea will decide she’ll just have to make an organic, believable moment happen.

At the boathouse, Sharon and Adam will discuss the kiss pic playing a role in Chelsea’s anger. The fact that Sharon was part of Chelsea’s mental health team didn’t help.

Sharon will worry that she’s the reason Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) almost died, but Adam won’t want Sharon to blame herself for Chelsea’s revenge.

Sharon will need to get back to Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) since she’s being released today. She’ll still feel like Adam needs to turn himself in, but Adam will refuse to put his fate in Rey’s hands.

Adam will also argue that Chelsea is a consummate con artist who can’t be cornered. He’ll feel Chelsea will have to slip up on her own.

At The Grand Phoenix, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will push Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) for a straight answer about what’s going on with Summer Newman (Hunter King).

Phyllis will admit she was trying to get Sally a job out of town, which led to getting Summer in trouble with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman). Nick will think the best thing Phyllis can do is stay out of it.

Talk will turn to Sharon and the fact that Nick suspects Adam reached out to her. Nick will think Sharon’s lying about it, so Phyllis will realize he wants to protect his ex.

However, Phyllis will mostly just be glad Nick’s not saying nice things about Adam anymore.

Nick will confess that he’d like to have it both ways – to thank Adam on his way to a jail cell. Since the police don’t have any new leads, Nick will suggest he might be able to find one of his own. Phyllis will be curious what Nick has in mind, but he’ll promise to explain later.

At Jabot, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will talk to Summer about more of Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) mind games. Now that Ashland has backed out of his Jabot deal, Kyle will think it must’ve been a smoke screen just to meet with him.

Afterward, Lauren will confront Summer about her LA dirt-digging. Summer will argue that it was just a side project while she worked out a JCV deal. She’ll claim it was purely a defensive maneuver and that she needed to make sure Sally wouldn’t steal her job.

Lauren will counter that the way for Summer to keep her job is doing it well, not by blackmailing someone to leave her alone.

Although Summer will be sorry, Lauren will insist apologies aren’t going to cut it this time. Meanwhile, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will await the truth from Sally on the Crimson Lights patio.

Sally will agree to tell Jack, but she’ll warn him that it’s not pretty.

Sally will mention how Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) returned to Genoa City with a bombshell. She’ll confess that Kyle’s affair secret dropped in her lap. It wasn’t something Sally went looking for.

Jack will reel since that was back in February, which means Sally has been deceiving him for weeks.

All that time, Sally acted like Summer had invented the power struggle. Jack will call Sally out on her blackmail and point out she had so many opportunities to come clean.

Sally will contend that she didn’t want to look like a vicious gossip spreader. She’ll add that it was Kyle’s story to tell, not hers.

Sally will insist that she had to ward off Summer’s attacks after she forced her hand. Jack will decide it’s time for Sally to give him the details of what really happened in LA.

Sally will argue that if she’s guilty of anything, it’s loving someone too much. She’ll explain her ex-fiancé, Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks), was committed to a future with her until his old girlfriend showed up.

Before Sally knew it, Wyatt and his former flame were back together. Sally will explain that Wyatt’s girlfriend did something awful – far worse than anything Sally had ever done in her entire life.

That led to Wyatt crawling back to Sally and reuniting with her – only to dump her for a second time.

Jack will note that Wyatt had no right to jerk Sally around like that. He’ll wonder what happened next, so Sally will admit she snapped and pretended to be deathly ill in hopes of reuniting with Wyatt.

Sally planned on making a miraculous recovery until Wyatt’s girlfriend found out and threatened to expose her.

Sally will confess to holding Wyatt’s girlfriend against her will, so Jack will realize they’re talking about kidnapping. As Sally gets emotional, she’ll talk about how she felt like she was being abandoned again.

Jack will connect this to how Sally felt with her parents, so she’ll admit she had an aching need to matter to someone.

Sally will acknowledge how wrong she was and talk about how badly she wanted a fresh start. Since trouble kept finding Sally, she handled it the only way she knew how.

Sally will hope Jack can understand and will wonder where this leaves things between them. Jack will confess that they need to slow things down, but he’ll thank Sally for her honesty before he leaves.

At the cottage, Rey will talk to Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) about knowing Adam must be close. Rey will insist he’d bet his badge on it!

After Sharon returns and Michael exits, Rey will wonder if Sharon was just at the hospital with Faith. When Sharon says she was, Rey will call her out for lying.

Rey will note that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) texted him from the hospital and told him Sharon wasn’t there. Sharon will insist Mariah must’ve just missed her, but Rey won’t think that’s it. He’ll push Sharon to admit that Adam has been in touch – and that she knows where he is.

Rey will gripe about the hold Adam has on Sharon. He’ll point out that Adam brought poison into their home and nearly killed her husband!

Sharon will finally blurt out that Adam has indeed been in touch, but she’ll add that he didn’t do it. Sharon will claim it was Chelsea all along.

At Society, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Lauren will force Sally and Summer to have a meeting about what’s next. She’ll insist that Summer and Sally are going to forget these dark secrets they’ve been holding over each other.

Lauren will warn that any future problems will have to be handled in a forthright manner, so Sally and Summer will promise they’re crystal clear.

Afterward, Phyllis will corner Lauren to chew her out for how she’s treating Summer. She won’t think her daughter belongs in the same category as Sally and will warn Lauren not to lecture Summer again.

Later, Lauren will give Michael updates on the drama and hope it all works out. She would hate to lose both Summer and Sally at Fenmore’s.

At Jabot again, Kyle will give Jack the news about Ashland canceling the Jabot deal. He’ll still feel like Ashland is messing with him and will contemplate calling Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) to find out.

Jack will shut down that idea and will mention his illuminating, troubling conversation with Sally. He’ll be upset with Kyle for not mentioning the blackmail, so Kyle will ask if Jack means about the affair.

Jack will confirm that – unless there’s something else Sally’s holding over Kyle. When Jack expresses his disappointment in Summer for her own opportunistic move, Kyle will feel like Jack’s still defending Sally.

Jack will argue that he can’t defend any of them considering how they all handled the situation.

After Kyle and Summer run into Sally at The Grand Phoenix later, Kyle will suggest it’s time to lay down their swords. He’ll think they should pick up an olive branch instead, so Sally and Summer will call a truce for real this time.

Summer will note that she didn’t spill anything about LA, so she’ll hope Sally’s still going to keep her mouth shut on her end. Sally will confirm that a deal’s a deal.

At the penthouse, Nick will stop by to check on Chelsea. He’ll wish he knew what she was thinking and will credit Adam for saving Faith’s life. Chelsea will rant in her own mind about how Nick shouldn’t fall for it – how Adam doesn’t deserve Nick’s gratitude.

Chelsea will fear Adam’s going to get away with everything by painting himself as a hero. She’ll tell herself she can’t let that happen.

Just before Nick leaves on Friday’s Y&R episode, Chelsea will pretend she’s struggling to speak. Chloe will stand there looking nervous as Nick sports a stunned expression. “Sharon…knows…” Chelsea will whisper.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea won’t get away with her stalled recovery scam for much longer. Chelsea thinks she’s so smart, but Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will want to prove he’s smarter in the week ahead, April 12-16!
