The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, December 24 Recap – Cassie Visits Lost Nick – Summer’s Return Appearance

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, December 24, teases that Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) will visit a lost Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) before Summer Newman-Abbott (Hunter King) makes a return appearance. Let’s talk about what’s coming up on Y&R as Nick does some soul-searching on Christmas Eve.

At Crimson Lights, Nick will thank Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) for dressing up like an elf and helping him with the surprise Christmas party at the orphanage. They’ll talk about how Nick played Santa and what a struggle it must be for the kids who don’t know where they fit in the world.

After Nick sees that Summer is calling him from Milan, he’ll answer the phone and hear only Christmas music. Suddenly, Faith will disappear before Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) whisks Nick away for a special Christmas gift.

Nick and Nikki will end up at the ranch with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

After Victoria insists this isn’t an ambush, she’ll talk about wanting to close the distance between them. Nick will be skeptical about healing their relationship, but he’ll want to be close to Victoria like he was before.

There’ll be talk about how Victor always draws his kids back into rivalries and games – at least from Nick’s perspective. However, Adam will pipe up about the Newman Media and New Hope collaboration.

Adam will insist he’s learning a lot from Nick and will express his gratitude, so Victor will act like it’s great to see the Newman brothers coming together.

Nick won’t want to get carried away when it comes to that collaboration. He’ll remain skeptical about repairing the family damage, but Victor will bring Nick’s attention back to the gift he came for.

Nick will open a box and find a Christmas book that Victor used to read when he was younger – one Victor’s kids now read to their own children.

Nick will point out Adam didn’t have the same memories and traditions, so Adam will note that he was able to get past not having the same childhood experience as his siblings. He’ll think Nick should also be able to get past whatever troubles are in the family now.

Nick will admit he’s trying, but Nikki will think there’s something holding Nick back. She’ll feel like Nick’s searching for something and struggling to figure out his place in life.

After Nick gets another call that’s seemingly from Summer, he’ll once again hear only music on the other end. Nick will worry Summer’s in some sort of trouble, but it’ll be Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) who needs his dad.

Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will appear and guide Nick to Society, where Noah will be sulking at the bar. Nick will get updates on Noah’s ex-girlfriend, who reconnected with a childhood love and found happiness in a new marriage.

Although Noah will be happy for his former flame, he’ll still wonder how he got it so wrong.

Nick will point out that there’s no such thing as a perfect relationship, but Noah will call Nick out on his own issues. He’ll wonder how Nick can be such a good guy and keep screwing up his own life.

As Noah disappears, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will take the blame for that – at least partly.

Even so, Phyllis will think there’s more to Nick’s funk than their failed relationship. She’ll feel like Nick has a need for something in his life, but he won’t know what he’s searching for.

Then, it’ll be Cassie’s turn to pay Nick a visit. She’ll praise Nick as the greatest dad in the world and will insist she wanted him to hear that from her.

Cassie will think Nick’s looking in the wrong direction when it comes to filling the empty space, but she’ll give him a hint. She’ll suggest it’s all around Nick tonight.

Nick will wonder how he can be such a good father if he couldn’t do more to protect Cassie. He’ll get choked up over Cassie’s death before Sharon reappears.

Sharon will argue that Nick can’t stop his kids from getting hurt and making bad choices. She won’t think Nick should revisit what wasn’t his fault and what he can’t change.

Nick will feel like Faith was headed down the same path, but Sharon will point out that their daughter’s back on track now.

Faith will also bring up Adam’s selfless move to save Faith, but she’ll think Nick should give himself some credit for having compassion and giving Adam another chance to prove himself.

Sharon will talk about the loss of Cassie changing the trajectory of Nick’s life before Faith pops back up.

Faith will think Nick needs to stop going with the current and start swimming in the direction he truly wants. She’ll note that the small stuff can make a big difference and will run down a list of Nick’s good deeds.

Faith will get emotional as she insists she’s alive because of Nick. She’ll be thankful for the love Nick shows her every day and will want him to listen to his heart.

On the patio of Crimson Lights, Nick will wake up in a Santa suit as Faith brings him coffee. He’ll admit he was having a weird, jumbled dream about his family members all telling him the same thing.

Nick will mention the Christmas carol he kept hearing, but he won’t remember many dream details.

Next, Summer will call for real this time after midnight mass in Milan. She’ll talk about hearing the church bells on the balcony before gushing over Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) Christmas excitement.

Nick will agree to wear his Santa suit on the video chat tomorrow and will ask if Summer’s free for a few days. They’ll settle on Nick visiting Italy after Christmas, so he’ll be tickled pink.

After Nick hangs up, he’ll turn his attention to Faith, Noah and Sharon. They’ll all discuss the holiday menu and some family traditions, including a quote from the book Nick received in his dream.

Nick will talk about the little things and small kindnesses before accepting some hugs. It’ll seem like Nick’s learned to embrace moments like this with his family to fill that void he’s been feeling.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nick will have some other challenges in the new year, but this is a nice start toward finding his footing.
