The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, June 18, reveals that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will get a shadowy visitor while Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) makes a baby boy blunder. As for Summer Newman (Hunter King), she’ll be forced to keep an awful secret from Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
At The Grand Phoenix on Friday’s Y&R episode, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will shut down Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) interrogation of Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi).
She’ll argue that they don’t need to explain themselves to her parents. “I’m not a teenager at prom!” Victoria will insist.
Although Nikki and Victor will remain concerned about Ashland being on the rebound, they’ll shift to more pleasant topics – including Victor scoring those impressive tickets for the concert in Florence.
Ashland will admit to playing the piano when he was younger and regretting giving it up.
Nikki will suggest Ashland could always pick up playing again and will add that it’s never too late. That’ll leave Victoria looking a bit uncomfortable.
Once Victor’s alone with Nikki, he’ll point out that he senses something else is going on with Victoria and Ashland. Victor will be determined to get to the bottom of it.
Back with Ashland, he’ll invite Victoria to his suite and discuss getting his affairs in order. Victoria will have an idea that might make it less daunting and even enjoyable.
Victoria will propose a merger between Newman Enterprises and Locke Communications Group. Victoria will think they can form one powerhouse company, send any predators running and allow Ashland’s legacy to live on.
At the Abbott mansion, Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) will insist that Summer’s going to receive an offer in Italy. Summer will gripe about Tara talking to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), but Tara will insist this offer is happening – and that Summer needs to accept it.
Tara will tout the benefits of Summer making this Italy move. “It’s lovely,” Tara will say. “The food, the history, the MEN…”
Summer will counter that she already has a man and will wonder why she’d move to Italy with Kyle when Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) is there in Genoa City.
Tara will note that this doesn’t involve Kyle moving – just Summer. She’ll think it’d be a shame if something came between Kyle and Harrison’s growing bond, so Summer will feel like that’s a threat.
Tara will decide she’d better make herself clear and will warn Summer to take the job and leave the country. If Summer doesn’t, Tara will make sure Kyle never sees Harrison again.
Summer will marvel over seeing the real Tara and how she fooled everyone into thinking Harrison was all that mattered. Tara will argue that she’s indeed thinking of Harrison, who needs the stability of two parents.
Tara will suggest that Summer wants to see the worst in her because accepting the truth would be too painful.
Although Tara will think she had something special with Kyle, Summer will contend that Kyle simply used Tara. Summer will point out that she’s a couple with Kyle again and intends to marry him.
Summer will threaten to fill Kyle in on this conversation, but Tara will wonder what Summer thinks will happen.
Tara will ask if Summer thinks Kyle will try to take Harrison away. “Good luck with that,” Tara will declare. She’ll vow to disappear and guarantee Kyle would never see his son.
Tara won’t think Kyle would forgive Summer for that, so she won’t feel like Summer really has a choice here.
Summer will insist Tara has miscalculated the situation and will vow to warn the Abbotts about her. Tara will reply that she thought Summer loved Kyle more than that. “Guess you’re seeing the real me for the first time, too,” Summer will snap before storming out.
At the park, Kyle and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will watch Harrison play from a distance. They’ll talk about the importance of doing what’s best for the boy.
Jack will suggest things might get tough as Harrison gets older since he’ll have two fathers who might disagree on parenting. He’ll also push Kyle to do everything in his power to foster a healthy relationship between Tara and Summer.
Soon after, Kyle will sit on the ground with Harrison and reassure him about coming back in the morning to look for his lost ball. Summer will look dejected as she watches the cute moment nearby.
When Jack approaches Summer, they’ll talk about how Tara didn’t have to worry about Ashland’s custody ultimatum after all. Jack will be glad since Kyle would be devastated if Harrison was cut out of his life. As Tara appears, Summer will exchange a dirty look with her.
Afterward, Kyle will pack up a few things in his suite since Harrison asked Daddy for a sleepover. He’ll talk about wanting to make up for lost time with Harrison. Kyle will think he has to make sure Harrison knows he’s not going anywhere.
Summer will seem upset to Kyle, who’ll question her and offer a reminder that they tell each other everything.
However, Summer will keep her mouth shut about Tara’s threat. Once she’s alone, Summer will take a call from Angelini Marchetti.
Angelini will want to talk about Summer becoming her new creative director, so Summer will look somber as she says she’d love to hear all about it.
After Kyle shows up at the Abbott mansion, he’ll mention that Summer seemed distracted. Kyle will assure Tara that Summer knows how important Harrison is to him. “I truly believe she does,” Tara will reply.
At the Chancellor mansion, Abby and Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) will summon Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) to discuss Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz).
After Abby explains the situation with the line going dead, she’ll confess how scared she is and push for any info Christine can offer.
Christine will argue that she doesn’t have the security clearance anymore, but Nina will think she must still have connections and contacts. In the end, Christine will relent and vow to see what she can find out through her limited avenues.
After Mariah returns from a walk, Abby will offer to make her a snack and will ask if she’s having any cravings. “This boy loves his peanut butter and apples,” Mariah will admit as she grips her baby bump.
Mariah will quickly realize she’s inadvertently spilled the news of the baby’s gender and will try to cover her blunder.
Abby will finally get Mariah to admit she found out it was a boy at the ultrasound. Mariah will worry Abby’s going to be angry with her for ruining the surprise, but Abby will be over the moon about having a son.
At Crimson Lights, Christine will speak with someone over the phone about the Chance situation. “And that’s all you have on Chance Chancellor?” Christine will ask before hanging up.
When Nina appears, she’ll join Christine at a table on the patio. Christine will get that it must be hard knowing Chance is out there putting his life in danger.
That’ll leave Nina suspicious that maybe Christine knows something she isn’t saying – like where Chance is and what he’s doing.
Back at the Chancellor mansion, Abby will sleep peacefully on the sofa while wearing Chance’s sweatshirt. A dark shadow will appear as someone approaches and watches Abby take her nap.
We’ll pass along updates as other Y&R details become available. The Young and the Restless spoilers say some Chance shockers are looming, so stay tuned. CDL will have other great Young and the Restless spoilers, news and updates to check out, so stick with us.
