The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) may be gearing up for a new love triangle with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Will the sisters’ bond and new law firm end up in jeopardy?
Y&R seems to be laying the groundwork for a sibling rivalry, so let’s consider a few crucial clues. For starters, Amanda and Imani are getting along so well now – perhaps too well!
In the December 2 episode, Amanda points out that they’ve come a long way since Imani’s restraining order. They’ve grown much closer as sisters, but that doesn’t mean the peace will last.
As we’ve seen with the Newman clan, it’s easy for siblings to get too competitive and bring out the worst in each other. Amanda and Imani’s newfound closeness could be building to another round of conflict, particularly since the Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) mess has been put to rest.
The show’s moving Imani and Amanda into a different storyline featuring their law firm, but it could be risky working together like this. The December 2 episode also features a disagreement about office space – and though the sisters work it out in the end, it seems like a tell-tale sign that more disagreements could be looming.
Amanda and Imani have strong personalities, so there’s the potential for them to butt heads in the coming months and reignite the hostility between them. That brings us to Devon, who’ll be vulnerable after giving Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor back to Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway).
Abby and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will be raising this child, so Devon could find himself feeling lost and could lose his way even further if he strays from the woman he loves. Imani has commented on what a great catch Devon is before and will have the opportunity to grow closer to him now that she’s fully in Amanda’s orbit.
It’s just tough to believe Y&R’s put all these puzzle pieces in place without the intention of a love triangle. Regardless, there’s no drama in Amanda and Imani developing a perfectly nice relationship while they thrive at their new law firm. That’s a setup, not a story!
