The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one couple will be in a desperate fight to save their marriage. Y&R fans know Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) finally calmed down following the “Shadam” kiss photo scandal.
Rey obviously isn’t happy about Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) locking lips with her ex, but he’s trying to be levelheaded about how he’s handling this.
After Rey spelled out his concerns about Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) being part of Sharon’s psyche, Sharon remained in denial. She was actually quite offended by Rey’s talk about her Adam addiction and the dark pull she feels.
Sharon also wasn’t keen on going to couples therapy since she feels like they can handle this on their own.
However, Rey would really like to have an objective third party to help them sort through this. It’s honestly the least Sharon can do after she just got caught kissing her ex! It’s strange that Sharon’s even resisting the idea since she gives therapy sessions herself.
Why wouldn’t Sharon want to talk through things with someone and give her marriage the best chance of surviving? Perhaps Sharon doesn’t want it to survive deep down on some subconscious level.
Whatever the case, it’s not setting a very good example for Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) if Sharon won’t go to therapy when she’s adamant that Faith needs it. Since Sharon wants to find her way back to being a good role model for Faith, that may be why she gets on board.
Rey suggested he could potentially learn to live with Sharon’s decision if she refused couples therapy, but Sharon should eventually see how much it matters to him. Between that and the Faith issue, Sharon will have some good reasons to go along with Rey’s plan.
On March 12, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kathryn Browning will appear as a marriage counselor named Iris.
Since Rey brought up the couples therapy idea and “Shey’s” marriage is the one most in need of saving on Y&R, it makes sense that Iris will try to help Sharon and Rey.
The question is: Can Rey and Sharon really be helped at all – or will the ghost of old love with Adam always haunt them? Sharon’s inner Adam demons may always be there, so Rey may not be able to live with that.
If Sharon is unwilling or unable to truly let Adam go and move on with her life, then couples therapy will be destined to fail. We’ll bring you updates as other Y&R news pops up.
