The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) could land back in bed. Will Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) Italy move bring their sad parents back together?
Y&R fans know Jack delivered a heartfelt apology to “Red” after she was proven right about Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Jack was awfully hard on Phyllis when she was just trying to expose the scheming liars and get her daughter back home.
Unfortunately, Summer won’t be moving back to Genoa City – and Kyle’s set to move to Milan now that the whole truth’s out.
After Summer and Kyle deliver that bombshell on the August 9 episode, Phyllis and Jack will both be deeply distraught.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will admit he was more prepared for the news than they were, so he won’t be nearly as crushed.
Phyllis will announce that she needs some air before Jack decides he’ll join her – leaving Nick to sit alone in the hotel lobby.
This almost feels like it could foreshadow a reconnection between Jack and Phyllis. We’re seeing them get on the same page emotionally, and the show’s portraying Nick like an outsider in the situation.
It’s the kind of thing Y&R could build on if they want to tell an affair story between Jack and Phyllis.
Even when Jack gets frustrated with Phyllis, there’s always a certain strength to their bond.
Jack desperately needs a love interest, so the show might send Phyllis his way since there are plenty of other women Nick could end up with down the road.
During the week of August 9-13, Phyllis and Jack will lean on each other. They’ll both be miserable, so they’ll decide to be miserable together.
This will serve as yet another example of Phyllis and Jack connecting over their children and what they’re feeling.
These are some good reasons for Phyllis to grow closer to Jack and potentially cheat with him down the road.
The show might be laying the groundwork for an affair when the time is right, so this is certainly something to keep an eye on.
