The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will ice out Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), so he’ll push Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) ex away. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will also gloat over her rival losing two men, so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.
Phyllis has come to rely on Jack as her main source of comfort and guidance. Jack is always willing to serve as a sounding board and console Phyllis when the need arises.
Despite Jack’s own feelings for Phyllis, he’s offered plenty of encouragement when it comes to Phyllis and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) relationship. However, things are going to change now that Phyllis and Nick have split.
During the week of November 8-12, Jack will decide it’s best if he takes a step back from his former flame. He’ll choose to put some distance between them, so Phyllis is bound to feel confused and hurt.
Phyllis is used to being able to pick up the phone and have Jack come running at a moment’s notice. She won’t get why Jack’s suddenly cutting her off and will deal with even more heartache as a result.
Of course, there could be a couple reasons why Jack wants to pull back. Jack might think there’s still a chance for reconciliation between Nick and Phyllis.
Perhaps Jack will feel like Phyllis and Nick stand a better shot at reuniting if he makes himself scarce.
Then again, Jack might feel like he won’t be able to avoid temptation around a single Phyllis. Without Phyllis’ commitment to Nick as a barrier, Jack may feel like he’ll struggle to control his feelings and could say too much again.
Jack may not want to exploit Phyllis’ feelings in this vulnerable state, so stepping back makes sense if that’s his mindset.
There’s no need to rush a “Phack” reunion when “Phick” just broke up, so Jack might believe icing Phyllis out if the right call – at least until her broken heart starts to heal.
Naturally, Sally will be ready to pounce on Phyllis’ pain! She’ll eventually find out about Phyllis and Nick’s split, so she’ll no doubt weigh in on that.
Sally should also realize Jack and Phyllis aren’t attached at the hip like they normally would be. That’ll leave Sally acting like everyone wised up to who Phyllis really is and left her all alone.
Sally’s button-pushing is sure to infuriate Phyllis, but it may also cut like a knife since Phyllis will be so distraught over her circumstances.
