The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) may give birth in captivity, which could lead to Baby Chancellor being stolen while the surrogate’s set free alone. Let’s consider how this hot plot might play out.
Based on Mariah’s accommodations, her kidnapper isn’t completely cruel. Mariah has a fairly nice room and has been getting regular meals as well as prenatal vitamins. The person behind this scheme cares about the baby and wants to make sure this pregnancy goes according to plan.
Of course, Mariah is still in a stressful situation, so that could bring on early labor. Then again, Mariah is sporting a massive baby bump at this point, so she’s obviously supposed to be pretty far along.
The show has sped up this pregnancy in a big way, which means it’s tough to predict exactly when Baby Chancellor will come.
Regardless, this Y&R kidnapper doesn’t seem interested in letting Mariah go anytime soon.
The goal appears to be making certain Mariah gives birth in captivity, which would make it easier to kidnap the baby after the delivery.
We have to acknowledge how suspicious the show’s made Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) look since he first arrived back in town.
When Stitch peered in the window at pregnant Mariah, it felt like a dead giveaway that Stitch would target her.
Stitch and Mariah also had a chat about her pregnancy right before she went missing. Then, there’s the matter of Stitch’s strange lie about getting the chief of surgery position.
We also know Stitch doesn’t have much of a life outside work, visiting Max Rayburn (Jared Breeze) and pining for Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway).
All of this adds up to shady Stitch, who may or may not deliver this baby himself. Stitch could pay someone to do it for him if he wants to protect his identity. After all, Stitch is in the clear as long as Mariah doesn’t know he was behind the snatching.
However, it’d probably be more dramatic for kidnapper Stitch to coach Mariah and deliver the baby himself.
Mariah may land in the tough position of having to trust Stitch with this task when she doesn’t trust him with anything else.
Whatever the case, Mariah may be tossed aside once she brings Baby Chancellor into the world.
The baby is apparently all Stitch wants, but he doesn’t seem likely to hurt Mariah either. The most reasonable option here is for Stitch to bolt with the baby and let Mariah return to her loved ones.
