The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will suffer through some christening heartbreak, so Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s godmother will make a crushing decision after the ceremony.
Y&R fans know Mariah’s been struggling to disconnect from the baby she carried.
Mariah will always have a special bond with Dominic due to what she did for Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz), but she can’t go overboard here.
Abby is this child’s biological mother, so that’s something Mariah will have to accept and make peace with.
Unfortunately, that’ll be easier said than done – especially once Abby makes Mariah the baby’s godmother and parades her up in front of everyone for the christening.
Mariah and godfather Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will be right by Abby’s side as she holds Dominic for this ceremony. It won’t be long until Mariah’s crying and struggling to keep it together.
Mariah will really be struck by the blow that her motherly instincts and desires aren’t something she can act on.
Mariah will understand that Abby has to be this baby’s one and only mom, but she may not know if she can watch it happen right in front of her – not right now anyway.
The wound is still fresh, so Mariah may be gearing up to take a big step back from the baby.
After the christening, Mariah will corner Abby at the reception to reveal a devastating choice. It seems likely that Mariah will announce she needs to distance herself from Dominic for a while.
Mariah may feel like it’s time to move out of the Chancellor mansion along with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and get back to their own lives.
Tessa will certainly be on board with doing whatever Mariah needs to come to grips with the loss and move on.
Abby should understand as well, though her own heart will break for Mariah and what she’s going through.
This is a tough situation all around, but it sounds like Mariah will be doing what’s best for everyone by giving herself some breathing room when it comes to all the baby drama.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Mariah will still have a lot to work through, but it sounds like she’ll be moving in the right direction.
