The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson) is not leaving for her maternity leave yet, so the Y&R star clarified Chelsea’s exit delay on Twitter.
Despite how the story might seem, Chelsea isn’t being shipped off to a psychiatric hospital to explain away Egan’s absence.
Egan is still filming and will remain on screen in the weeks ahead, so this is all part of Chelsea’s exciting storyline.
The Y&R actress certainly gave an impressive performance as Chelsea put on a mental breakdown show for Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) benefit.
Chelsea did what she was told thanks to Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) plan to clear Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), but he vowed to give Chelsea a fresh start once she’s spent some time in this psych hospital.
As long as Victor keeps his promise, Chelsea will eventually go free and get a new beginning.
Will that new beginning tie in with Melissa Claire Egan’s actual maternity leave down the road? Time will tell, but the point is Egan isn’t leaving right now!
We’ll see more of Chelsea at her mental health facility, so there could be some interesting visits and perhaps some scary curveballs if things don’t go as planned.
