The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, August 23, tease that Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) past will come back to haunt him, but Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will fiercely defend her shady fiancé. Victoria couldn’t be more smitten with Ashland and the idea of building a life together, so that’ll make her even more stubborn than usual.
When Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) drops some hint – perhaps about Victoria not really knowing Ashland all that well – she’ll provoke her daughter’s outrage.
Victoria may snap that she knows everything she needs to know about Ashland. She trusts in their love and is getting fed up with all the naysayers at this point.
Victoria will defend Ashland and their strong connection, so Nikki may back off for now. However, there’ll be more Ashland worries due to an upcoming meeting at the ranch.
Y&R fans know Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) decided to take Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) advice and dig into Ashland’s history.
Victor’s goal was to hopefully find any warning signs and alert Victoria before the wedding. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will indeed mention something his team has uncovered.
It may not be enough to convince Victoria that Ashland is up to no good, but it’ll definitely catch Victor’s interest.
Victor will think he needs to settle things with Ashland, but confronting him without much evidence might not make a difference.
More digging may be necessary, especially if Victor hopes to make Victoria see the light when it comes to Ashland’s true colors.
Regardless, Victor’s initial discovery could be the beginning of the end for Ashland.
It sounds like Ashland’s past will come back to bite him – and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) may be on the verge of uncovering a shocker, too.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will have a feeling Billy’s going behind her back on something.
There’s a good chance it involves fishing for dirty details and trying to save Victoria from marrying the “Locke-ness Monster.”
In the meantime, Victoria will keep her focus on Ashland and enjoying every moment she can with him.
Victoria knows there are no guarantees when it comes to Ashland’s treatment, so she’s all about living in the here and now. Of course, it’s what Ashland did before that could be the real problem.
