The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, August 30, tease that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will battle some mom fears while the search for Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) intensifies. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will also beg for Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and their long-awaited reunion, so here’s what Y&R has in store.
The baby seems happy and healthy after Abby delivers him in Friday’s episode, but things can change in an instant on a soap.
By Monday, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will have to support Abby through a tough crisis. Of course, a few different explanations come to mind here.
The first one involves a potential scare involving the baby, but it’s also possible the whole ordeal will just catch up with Abby.
After running on adrenaline and riding that baby birth high, Abby may finally come crashing down. It could hit her that the situation could’ve had a very different – and very tragic – outcome.
Abby may blame herself since Stitch is her ex, but it’s not like she caused him to go off the rails and kidnap her surrogate.
Victor will no doubt assure Abby that she’s not responsible, but Abby might worry about protecting her child in this messed-up world.
Naturally, Abby will also hate that Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) isn’t around to share in this experience.
That may be another reason for Abby to break down and lean on Victor, but the point is this supportive dad will be there for his struggling daughter.
Abby is sure to be a great mom, but she’ll need a little nudge as she embarks on this journey.
As for Mariah, she’ll be desperate for a reunion with Tessa. It’s interesting that spoilers don’t actually say Mariah and Tessa will have that reunion – just that Mariah will long for one.
It’s possible the show released info that’s worded awkwardly, but it could also be a sign that the reunion will be delayed.
We can’t rule out a post-birth health crisis if complications cause Mariah to lose consciousness.
That’d be yet another reason for Abby to fret and turn to Victor, so it’s something to keep in mind.
Regardless, Mariah will be haunted by her history later in the week. Whether that’s in a dream or involves some trauma following this ordeal, Mariah’s going to have a rough time.
Until then, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will keep searching for Stitch and will pursue every possible angle.
Stitch did such a bad job of covering up the fact that he was the kidnapper that it’s hard to believe he’ll suddenly become a good criminal now.
Rey may not always be the greatest detective, but let’s hope he’ll be able to hunt Stitch down and wrap this case up quickly.
