The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, August 9 Recap – Kyle & Summer Staying in Milan – Phyllis Heartbroken – Sally Fired

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, August 9, reveals that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will get fired after Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) reveal they’re staying in Milan. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will also be heartbroken over her daughter’s decision, so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.

At home following their trip, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will discuss their new engagement.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will arrive to talk to them about Tara Locke’s (Elizabeth Leiner) arrest, but Ashland will decide he’d better go check on Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez).

Once Ashland’s gone, Nikki will find out from Victoria that Ashland’s divorce has already been finalized. She’ll also notice the joy radiating off Victoria and feel like she’s missing something.

However, Victoria will avoid spilling anything and will delay her news until Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) present. Nikki and Victoria will agree that they’ll all meet up at the ranch in about an hour.

Back with Ashland, he’ll head to the Abbott mansion and learn Harrison’s at the children’s museum with Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).

Jack will assure Ashland that Harrison doesn’t know what happened with Tara, so that’ll be a relief.

Ashland will find out Tara blackmailed Summer and won’t be surprised, so Jack will wonder if Ashland knew Tara was making her move.

Although Ashland will understand how Jack might reach that conclusion, he’ll insist his only involvement was reaching out to Eric Forrester (John McCook) for Sally – and then Sally took it from there.

Ashland will mention that he wants to discuss arrangements now that Tara is in jail, so Jack will wonder what he means by that.

Once Ashland explains that he’s going to file a motion to restrict Tara from seeing Harrison, Jack will ask where that leaves Kyle.

Jack won’t want to be insensitive, but he’ll point out that it’s his understanding that Ashland doesn’t have much time left.

Ashland will note that he may have more time than he anticipated now that he’s about to start treatment.

Nevertheless, Ashland will agree to wait until Kyle is back from Milan before they figure out the whole custody situation.

Later, Jack will meet up with Phyllis and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) at The Grand Phoenix.

Summer will want to speak to them all on a video call – and when she comes on the screen, she’ll be smiling and looking cozy with Kyle.

Unfortunately, Summer will drop the bomb that they both want to stay in Milan. She won’t want to give her perfect job up – and Kyle will think he can handle his Jabot work from Italy.

As for Harrison, Kyle will hope he can talk Ashland into letting Harrison come stay there with them. He’ll think a move to Italy might be the best thing for Harrison under the circumstances.

After the video call wraps up, Phyllis and Jack will be visibly disappointed.

Nick will admit he was perhaps better prepared for this outcome than they were. When Phyllis says she needs some air, Jack will decide to join her.

At Crimson Lights, Sally will leave Tara a voicemail before Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) walks in.

Lauren will offer updates on Tara’s arrest and will blast Sally for her part in the plot against Summer.

Sally will continue to deny being in cahoots with Tara, but Phyllis and Jack will arrive to back Lauren’s claims up.

Jack will point out that Sally even got Ashland involved, so Phyllis will think she’s unbelievable!

After Phyllis rants about Summer losing everything while Sally got everything she wanted, Lauren will pipe up that it won’t be the case for long.

“It’s over, Sally. You’re fired,” Lauren will declare. She won’t think she can trust Sally ever again, so she’ll be done with her.

After Jack and Lauren leave in disgust, Sally will tell Phyllis she’s going to regret this.

Phyllis will snap that Sally’s in no position to be making threats and will think the best thing Sally can do is just go away.

Once Sally stomps off, Phyllis will get Summer on another video call. She’ll insist that Sally was fired and push her daughter to come home, but Summer will stand her ground.

Phyllis will cry about how she fought for Summer and won’t understand why she’s staying in Milan, but Summer will manage to settle her down.

At the ranch, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will pay Victor a visit and reveal that the case against Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) was dropped.

Amanda will also reveal that the DA is once again pursuing conspiracy to commit murder charges against Sutton Ames (Jack Landron).

Naya will try to get in touch with Amanda while she’s talking to Victor, but Amanda will ignore her. She won’t think she can face Naya again, but Victor will push Amanda to give her mother another chance.

When Amanda meets up with Naya in her suite, Naya will make a surprising declaration. She’ll argue that giving Amanda and Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) up was the best thing she ever did.

Amanda will be offended at first, but Naya will explain that she was a lost and insecure college girl at the time – one who was under her father’s thumb.

Naya will be glad that Amanda and Hilary avoided being under Sutton’s thumb like she was. She’ll wish she could be more like Amanda and will want nothing more than to be in her life.

Naya just won’t believe she deserves it, but Amanda will cry about how that’s all in the past. She’ll think what matters now is that the woman in front of her is her mom.

Once Ashland returns home to Victoria, he’ll explain that Tara is headed to Manhattan for her arraignment.

Ashland will expect Tara to make bail, but he’ll add that she won’t be able to leave New York.

A little later, Ashland will present Victoria with a beautiful sapphire engagement ring. He’ll get down on one knee for a do-over marriage proposal – and Victoria will accept once again.

Next, Victoria and Ashland will head to the ranch for their big announcement.

Nikki will spot the ring on Victoria’s finger before her daughter reveals they’re engaged.

Victoria will explain that they love each other and don’t want to waste any time. Victoria will ask Victor how he feels about it as he sits there glaring.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria and Ashland’s wedding plans will lead to some shockers, so stay tuned to Y&R.
